i wouldn't mind if gta vi came out in a long long time, but what about the next next gen?they can't develop a game for 10 years if after 8 the next gen comes out.but i wouldn't mind a new gta and Red Dead at the end of the next gen with huge maps.Las Vegas would be a nice city if it were 1 of 3 cities.and in each city the main crimes/goals are different.in Vegas it would be casinos and competing with other casinos.or maybe a character focused on each city.for example we can't have a city where you try to manage a casino filled with illegal activities and go to a different city with gangs since you would have the money to leave the gang life.but with another character you can do the gang missions.

It's really time that GTA has a setting in Europe again. Would be cool to see a mini version of Europe where you can visit different countries and different cities, many cultures in a single game, that would be pretty interesting.

For sure it won't be Vice City, it just doesn't have anything besides the city, no interesting countryside no nothing, it would be just as boring as LC in GTA IV.

Miami does have an interesting rural area and countryside, it's called Swamps and Everglades, and I am sure R* would nail the redneck subculture quite well.

R* said they wont do vice city again because they felt the 80s was iconic for them and wont be able to go there in the new age. Maybe in their remake of san andreas they will do a game for each city, that wouldnt be too bad.

Leslie Benzies said the exact opposite. They just don't want to do it in the 80's again.

I'd like to see Boston in GTA 6. Doubtful if Rock* wants multiple big cities. Having Boston,NYC, and Philly would be a nice BIG start

you might need to re-read his statement carefully: "Vice City, perhaps more than any other GTA game, was as much about the era as the setting. Miami in the 80s is so iconic it would feel strange to revisit the city in a different time period."

I belive that was Dan, not Leslie, who stated this. This is what Leslie had to say:

"Of course, at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities, and let the player fly between them and revisit their favourite areas; and in that context, re-imagining Vice City would be very interesting,"

I could see a reimagined Vice City. If they were to add some mainland type area for it and structure it more like real Miami then it would be interesting. But any other era than the 80's would make it kind of uninteresting.

I don't get how swampland and the everglades is interesting countryside at all, though.

Again, California is so perfect for GTA. It's a shame we won't see it for a long time most probably

Great Lakes.

From Chicago to Detroit, GTA players can now experience the wonders of the rust belt!

I don't think that even R* could make the MidWaste entertaining, every city would feel like a larger Alderney.

@Mr_Goldcard you know that they don't have to make a new universe for everytime a new generation of consoles is released, right?

Chicago is a more beautiful and cleaner NYC.

What if they did a thing like The Crew where it's like a full scale map of the US?

Then a ton of detail would be sacrificed unless they take 10 years to make the game. Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

I'm hoping to get two states, maybe the GTA universe's Florida (of course, featuring HD Vice City), and whatever's adjacent (either GTA's Georgia, or Alabama).

Can't be too hopeful, though, right?

For those saying whole US, it isn't a bad idea. They could reuse the layout of Liberty City and Los Santos and update them to be modern.

I could see it like this:
Liberty City - based on GTAIV
Eastern Seaboard - lighthouses, coal mines, colonial archetecture
Capital City - based on Washington DC and Philidelphia, seedy politicians
Bible Belt - Appalachian mountains, backwards people, moonshine running
Jackson - southern city based on Atlanta and Montgomery
Vice City - Miami based city, cartel drug trade
Bayou - Everglades and southern Bayou
Old Nepolean - New Orleans
Great Plains - Midwest US, drive through and flyover country
Carcer City - based on Chicago and Detroit
West Elizabeth - Western mountains and plains
New Austin - based on Texas style cities, San Antonio, Houston
San Andreas - featuring Los Santos (based on GTAV), San Fierro, Las Venturas and everything inbetween

I think it will be a return to Vice City or the entire state and all 3 cities of San Andreas from III era.

I personally would like to see GTA 6 move out to South America, Mexico or Hawaii.

Can't wait! But first, GTA V! ^__^

I would like to see a fictional setting, city and landscape entirely based on Rockstar's own creativity. No New York, California, or Miami based settings- fictional. With variety! Geographically incorrect, I don't care!

I think that the next GTA should be in modern day Vice City. Of course, Vice City should be expanded and updated much like Liberty City and Los Santos were. They could include all of Miami, Miami Beach, the surrounding Everglades, the Keys, and perhaps another city like Orlando. GTA 7 should be all of San Andreas in modern times, with all cities updated and expanded to better reflect their real life counterparts. For all of those who insist that Vice City would be no good unless it is in the 80s, remember that Vice City is a fictional city. Therefore, Rockstar could implement the vibe, crime, and colorfulness of 1980s Miami but with modern architecture, technology, and, most importantly, vehicles. In other words, Rockstar could combine the best of the 1980s and modern times.
