I didn't find a similar topic in the search, but if there is, by all means lock this one up. I'm just curious of you guys' opinions on the gangs of LC/Alderney. Any particular favorites? Least favorites? Oddities?

My favorite would probably be the Jamaicans in Schottler and Willis. Seriously, those guys were ruthless. Yes, all of the gangs were violent, but those guys were wild. To my knowledge they were the only ones that would go out of their way to try and hunt you down for attacking them or even firing a gun in their presence. And when I say "hunt you down" I don't mean following you and shooting at you. I mean sending cars full of guys after you to run you off the road and gun you down for pushing a random ped.

I was playing IV today and I walked up to one of them and punched him in the face. Another member walked around the corner and immediately opened fire on me, which I've never seen from any other gang. Usually, they at least try to fight/stab you first, not these guys.

It's really annoying but no matter how much free roaming I do I never seem to run into these big gang attacks. I actually had to go out of my way after reading a topic on this forum, to get the Russians in Hove Beach to instigate a massive shootout with me and the cops, but this would never happen if I didn't purposely force it. Maybe I don't hang out in the Liberty City sh*tholes enough, or maybe I'm just too whipped when it comes to pissing off gangs tounge.gif , I'm gonna try pissing off some Jamaicans now though, sounds fun!

P.S. I've unlocked the Albanian outfit now though, which apparently gets you instant attacks from Russians or some gang on the first island, maybe it starts now!

I've only seen spontaneous gunfights once or twice, and it was usually because a police started firing at a suspect in areas with lots of gang members.

One of the best places to get into gunfights is in front of the Alderney safehouse. You've got two gangs (the korean mob, and the spanish lords) there, and police are common just down the street so you can easily get into four-way gunfights. Then the road is small, so there's usually lots of abandoned cars to take cover behind when the fight heats up.

And of course the Russians always pack lots of heat and they spawn in huge amounts so Hove Beach is another great place to fight.

One way these fights get initiated is through peds getting into car accidents with gang members. sometimes you'll see this happen and when it does the gang member nay start to fight the other ped. At this point you just have to hope that it escalates into the gang member firing his gun, which may cause surrounding gang members to do the same. Although one method that I discovered to work was getting members of the Spanish Lords or ND3 to attack the M.O.B., usually just by attacking members of both gangs and waiting for a wild punch. Then draw your gun and watch it all unfold.

Not sure if that will help but it's worked for me. Official General knows something about this...

My favorite gang is the M.O.B and North Holland Hustlers (pretty much the same thing). I just love the way you see groups and crews of them hanging around the projects, on street corners and by bodegas/convenience stores. With their cool sense of dress and urban fashion, they just perfectly look the part of a typical African-American street gang in a big East Coast U.S city. And they almost always seem to have guns, and they will shoot at you at the slightest infraction or provocation.

I also like the Northwood Dominican Drug Dealers gang (ND3) from TBOGT. They are one ruthless gang. They are just as ruthless as the Jamaicans, and I love seeing the two gangs go at it in vicious gun battles in Beechwood City and Schottler in Broker. The ND3 will even go to war with M.O.B gangs in Acter, Alderney. The ND3 will shoot dead a rival, and walk right up to them and shoot them some more to make sure. When I first saw them do that, I went crazy with excitement. Definitely one of the best gangs in entire GTA IV series.

Lmao, I actually forgot about the NHH as a gang. Usually when I see them my mind just lumps them together with the M.O.B. Similar dress I guess. Same thing with the ND3, I didn't know they were their own gang until you told me. They fit right in with the Spanish Lords anyway.

You can see gunfights and shootouts unfold between rival gangs in GTA IV, TLAD and TBOGT, but you kinda gotta instigate yourself and then leave the two gangs to fight it out.

GTA IV :

In East Holland, you will sometimes see Black (North Holland Hustlers) gang members and Hispanic (Spanish Lords) gang members walking around on the same turf. Just start a fight or fire your gun, one of them will start shooting, and once a gun is fired, the Black and Hispanic gang members will start shooting at each other.

You can do this anywhere you see two different gangs close by each other.

In Hove Beach, sometimes you see two different sets of Russian gangs that will shoot at each other, if you fire a gun there.

You can get Dwayne's friendship perk and he will send you two gang members to escort you around whenever you need them. Take them to any gang neighborhood and start trouble with a rival gang. Dwayne's boys and the gang members will shoot each other.

TLAD :

Go to North Holland, especially around the projects. You will members of the NHH gang and Uptown Riders biker gang hanging out on the same turf. Fire your gun, both gangs will fire theirs and quickly get into a shootout with each other.

TBOGT :

Whenever you see the ND3 gang members appear, go to Beechwood City, Schottler in Broker or Willis in Dukes. You will see the ND3 hanging out on the same turf as the Jamaican Posse gang members. Fire your gun and the two gangs with get into a vicious shootout, this one particularly gets explosive and VERY violent.

As above, go to Acter and fire a gun, ND3 and M.O.B gang members will soon start shooting at each other.

REMEMBER, this stuff does take some practice to get a good scenario, so you have be a little patient.

That's fine, as the NHH and M.O.B are virtually identical gangs to the point that they are the same.

The ND3 do fit in with the Spanish Lords because of the fact that they are Dominican, but they are far more vicious, violent and well-armed than the Spanish Lords. There is just something about the ND3 that sets them apart from the Spanish Lords. The Lords do carry guns, but less frequently than the ND3. And Lords gang members tend to run away when you attack them, whilst the ND3 will stare you out and then either blast you with a gun or stab the life out of you - they never run away from a fight or confrontation.

And they're usually unarmed or carrying knives anyway. The ND3 always have guns and when you shoot around them, especially in North Holland and around the basketball court up there, I've seen 6 or 7 members trying to gun me down just from shooting at one. f*cking insanity.

I also like M.O.B and North Holland Hustlers, if you just go stand next to them they start yelling something like "Yo white boy, who the f*ck ya think you are?".
I can see them very often standing here in this spot in North Holland:
user posted image

Couple days ago, I was just driving there and saw some Hustlers there, at The Linen Lounge. Pulled over and walked next to them and they started yelling sh*t. I went face to face with one big guy and hit him with my pistol and all the other gang bangers around me started yelling "Whoa that sh*t is f*cked up man" and the big guys yelled something like "Get the f*ck out of here". So I went to the other big guy and punched him with pistol again and he took his pistol out, so I punched him again and he dropped his pistol. So they all ran away. It was pretty cool, usually they don't ran away, they just take their uzis or pistols out and start shooting.

Russians are also fun to fight with, but they are pretty dangerous. Jamaicans are the most peaceful gang I think.

This is an intresting topic, never really have given much thought to the Gangs of LC, mainly because a big portion of them play little to no role in the story line.

That said in my experience, fighting a few of them is pretty fun, the Jamicans especially will hit hard they don't seem to care when you're walking arround their turf but like others have said if you f*ck with them at all they will come down on your ass harder than most.

I've found the Spanish Lords are the least threatening, they may have a 9MM or a knife, but will likely run if you pull out your own gun, found that the Armeanians are also not to threatening either, the NHH are a mid level threat from what I've seen, same with M.O.B, I've also found that the Uptown riders don't pose much of a threat in my experience, I've even had some run after stealinng their bike.

Also I've never seen ND3 at all untill now, I may have to go find them and piss them and the Jamicans off at the same time when I play TBoGT next, I take it that's the gang that you're suposedly runing/helping with the Drug Wars?

Hey, who do you guys think took over the Gambetti Crime Family after Jon Gravelli died?

Im thinking Roy Zito but I heard someone say earlier that Sammy Bottino would have took over. I just dont see it. He apparently was in hiding because of something that happened in Vice City. Zito was already in LC so its only logic that he took over. Thoughts?

The Russians are brutal. I saw them get in a fight with a few Jamaicans. They tore them apart and escaped after killing both cops. I even got hit in crossfire.

I've seen a few guys who look Italian in Leftwood and Westdyke. That area's supposed to have lots of Mafia influence, but I'm not sure they carry weapons (I'll have to check).

Otherwise they don't seem to be around.

I used to think that myself, but they do.

The guy above is right. You can find Mafia guys walking around in Little Italy in Algonquin, and they are armed with pistols and shotguns.

I've seen those guys tear apart the police with that same move, teaming up with 5 or 6 guys. I try and watch but sometimes they turn the gun on me, why I don't know.

There's an apartment complex up in East Holland, not the projects, but the place based on Taino Towers, where even if you go up to the third floor catwalks and shoot at the ND3 from the street, they will either engage in a gunfight with you or rush into the building, find you, and gun you down. The Lords, on the other hand, usually run. Even the NHH won't seem to chase me all the way up there if I just fire at them while they're on the ground. f*cking awesome.

Place looks exactly like this.

And I don't think I've ever seen mafia members outside of gamplay. I've seen the Korean Mob, the Chinese, and I believe the Jewish Mob maybe in Alderney, but no Italian Mafia. I'm going to have to go and find them.

Woow, just wow, I'm gonna try that with the ND3 in East Holland one day. Sounds f**king crazy !! Thanks icon14.gif

The Mafia guys are there, go to Little Italy, you will see them, and they are armed too. The Irish Mob are in Dukes, they are armed too.

The Irish Mob? This I definitely have to look for. Because I don't recall ever even hearing of them around LC. I'm going to go ahead and assume they hang out by Packie's house?

Lmao, I actually forgot about the NHH as a gang. Usually when I see them my mind just lumps them together with the M.O.B. Similar dress I guess. Same thing with the ND3, I didn't know they were their own gang until you told me. They fit right in with the Spanish Lords anyway.

The ND3 are definitely tougher than the Lords. I found that most times when you fire a gun around the Lords, most members run. Maybe one or two will stick around. And they're usually unarmed or carrying knives anyway. The ND3 always have guns and when you shoot around them, especially in North Holland and around the basketball court up there, I've seen 6 or 7 members trying to gun me down just from shooting at one. f*cking insanity.

That happened to me once, I got into a gunfight with some ND3 gang members in North Holland, and a group of them just started blasting shots at me, like they teamed up strategically to make sure you got me. The ND3 really epitomize that "Dominicans Don't Play" image.

Yeah the Irish Mob are to be found in Steinway in Dukes. They are seen mostly wearing green. They are armed with guns and they will shoot you if provoked. I discovered them quite late myself. There are also Albanian gang members in Bohan on the northwest side, they too are armed.

I discovered another way to cause any gang to fight with really any peds. I'm warning you though, it involves cheats to execute it properly.

So in TBoGT, get yourself some sticky bombs, and go into an area with some gangs. Then detonate a bomb, you don't have to be near it, and the peds nearby, usually about 7 or 8, will come to fight you. After a while, they'll end up fighting each other by default. If you pull a gun on them, they'll just start shooting each other trying to shoot you. I managed to get the ND3 to fight the Bikers in North Holland, then the cops showed up and it really got juicy.
