I recently bought a PS3 phat 80gb and i was thinking of downloading gta lcs because i had it back when i had a psp, but i did read about the ps3 version of this game having performance issues, and mixed messages about it being fixed or not

does anyone here still have the game on ps3 from the playstation network? is the framerate issue still there?

Yeah I have it on PS2 (the native version) and I wouldn't download it for PS3 as it already lags on PS2...

Why stop at the PS2 Classic version instead of using the PSP version on the PS3(CFW request)?

Damn it man, there is already a topic available on the second page! But yeah, it does lag on newer PS3's due to the emulation software. The best idea is get a first PS3 (is that what you have?), Buy LCS for PS2, Play the disc on the PS3 icon14.gif

Correction,if you find a PS3 with PS2 backwards compatibility NTSC(CECHA/CECHB) and PAL(CECHC/CECHE).
NTSC runs better that PAL consoles, but the y are rare on some parts.

I'm actually playing it now (PSN version, running on a slim PS3) and yeah it's a bit choppy at times, but it's totally playable, and if you didnt get a chance to play it on PSP or PS2, get it. I played it to 100% on the slim PS2 and from my memory it runs about the same as it did there. Never played the PSP version though.

Thanks for the correction, LCS on the PS3 is not too bad anyway, completely playable, it just runs better, as you said, on NTSC PS3's with the backwards compatibility.

Yes, its playable, i've done the storyline but havent touched the game since, which is a shame, i like liberty city in general, but GTA III is better than lcs like this.

Your problem is that you are playing on a console.

If you play on an adequate PC, you will not experience any lag.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is not available for PC, he has to play the game on the console. Lag is not much of an issue either and you say there would be no lag on PC? I doubt it, you'd have to get an adequate PC for that, costing you money and time.
