Welcome back to the Premier League Prediction Tournament!

Rules

-You must predict the score of the match before the match kicks off. You have until the kick off time to predict.
-Predictions must contain the score of the predicted match.
-In the event of a tie at the end of the tournament, the winner will be the member who has predicted the most amount of correct scores right.
-In the rare event of two members having the same score and the exact same amount of predicted correct scores at the end of the tournament, they will both be declared joint Prediction League Winners.

Scoring

-If you predict the correct result, you will be awarded three points. So if Manchester United win Swansea 2-1 and you predicted this, you will get three points.
-A single point is awarded if you predict the correct result, so if Manchester United win 1-0 and you predicted them to win 2-1, you will get one point only.
-If your score is correct but the winner is wrong, you do not pick up any points. So if Swansea win 2-1 and you predicted Manchester United to win 2-1, you will not get any points for that result.
-All of the above apply for drawn games aswell.

-Now you need to predict your top four and your bottom three. You get five points for each team that finishes in top four and another five points for the position too.

-Then you need to predict one of the promoted teams to do the best.

-The promoted teams are Cardiff, Crystal Palace and Hull.

-You will want to predict the scores for every match rather regularly to give you the best chance of winning.

I thought there would be no harm in starting this league early. The more people that see it, the better.
Also, if anybody has any suggestions or ideas to spice it up, feel free to post them or PM me.
(Apologies for the crappy photos, it's all I could find)

Good luck everyone, just don't beat me. icon14.gif

Everyone is welcome to join in.

Not that I want to come across as the burgeoning cynic, but I reckon the 30 minute before the game starts rule might throw up a few bananas throughout the season... Like if someone posts the score 20 minutes before kick-off it won't be valid? Although there were problems with people posting after the game started last season, I think that keeping the rule that you have to predict the score before the game itself was sound.

Nonetheless, good job for starting this up again. icon14.gif I'll get around to posting my initial predictions across the next few weeks.

EDIT: f*ck it, I'll do 'em now.

Top four:

1) Manchester United
2) Chelsea
3) Arsenal
4) Tottenham

Bottom three:

18) Sunderland
19) Cardiff City
20) Newcastle

Indeed and United's loss to Thailand's All star XI, I mean seriously it wasn't their best team but you wouldn't consider them to lose the game.

I believe it will take Moyes a few months to settle in properly. However, I still think United will struggle this season. 3rd or 4th place with no trophies.

^I'm being optimistic about United winning the league, but I'd never put anyone else in that number one spot. tounge.gif
I do reckon it will be around Christmas time until we start winning a load of games in a row like last season.

@Stefche: I see your point, didn't really think of it as I left the forums half way through last season so I wasn't aware of problems it caused. I could change it so you have to predict before the match kicks off, then the cut off point would literally be the minute the game starts

It was the first game back and first game in charge for Moyes and with the new coaching staff . Why do people take pre-season so serious and why do they change happens over night?

'Tis a while until the first game, suppose there would be no point predicting the first game yet as you can always change it until kick off.

I created my Fantasy Premier League team yesterday, had a lot of fun creating that team even though I'll probably do sh*t again and half of my squad will get injured.

I like how yet again so many people think arsenal will not make the top 4.

And I like how people have faith in Moyes I mean some don't even have the champions in the top four. A bit too extreme lads lol.gif
