Is there a relation between cpu temp and fps?

If my cpu gets too hot will I get less fps?
I have AMD FX 8320 and GTX 760 and I get surprisingly LOW fps for this build.
CPU is ~70C when playing.

yes, and that's the least of your worries, shortened CPU life and data loss/shutdowns would be others. so you built your computer yourself? how are you cooling the machine, where are your case fans located? what type of cpu cooler are you suing?

I didn't build it myself, I use the stock fan and it doesn't cool it good. Tomorrow I am getting the Hyper 212 Evo and possibly overclocking my CPU and if GTA IV stilll lags then I wasted my money to buy a pc to play a game which I still can't

CPU isn't the only thing that affects FPS. Your GPU also affects FPS.

original poster, sometimes you can't max gta iv settings no matter how good your computer hardware. there are other factors like software environment...
