Remember Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven? NO SWEARS! And the game is still one of the best gangster-mafia based games ever.

Remember Mafia II? The game that holds the Guiness record for the most swear words in a game.

Mafia 2 wasn't that bad. It just want even in the realm of the first one. Still a decent game though. The story wasn't terrible, but again, nothing like the first one.

Mafia 2's atmosphere was just as great as the 1st game.
Still, story wise, not really.

Anyways, back on topic.

I'm happy with how they depicted three different time periods throughout the story. I appreciate the effort, even though some of the music is noticeably inaccurate. The DLCs for Mafia 2 were both equally terrible.

Inaccurate but good. They did catch the sound of these eras pretty well.

I don't think the F bomb would really fit with the professional types of people you deal with.

It's funny how there's this weird mindset where it's considered in bad taste to use "naughty language" when literally all the characters we're dealing with are a bunch of thieving, conniving, amoral psychopathic murderers.

Still, an over-reliance on swearing always sounds goofy regardless of context, but I never really noticed the abscence of it in GTA III and Vice City whilst playing them. Upon further reflection, it doesn't add nor subtract from the experience for me. San Andreas and more notably GTA V had bucketloads of it, but it never felt out of place because, well, that's how people actually speak in the real world.
