When enemies don't fire their weapons, they don't appear on the radar until they do so, i guess that's how it'll work in MP, when you hear other players they'll appear on the radar until they stop shooting, can be frustrating especially if you encounter stealthy guys and snipers tounge.gif yawn.gif .

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but apparently street names don't show up on the screen like how they do in GTA IV.

They do.
We saw it in the gameplay.

Where? I didn't see them in the chase seen with the 9F. Several streets were crossed and no street names showed up.

The health and armor bar isn't that good. Map is cool. I prefer gta iv's hud.

Go back to the OP and click on the "Flying, 3D GPS & Location"

Hmm that's odd. Well we know Taxi's are back would be odd to not have
the Protag tell the driver exactly what street to go to turn.gif

Sorry to belabor the point, but the region that the plane was flying over (Tatavarin Mts/Land Act Dam) was shown. However, individual street names have not been shown. The gif of the 9f chase showed the car crossing a street but the name of the street was not displayed like how it did in GTA IV.

There's no correlation between the presence of taxi cars and street names. There were bus stops in IV but no running bus system.

The car was on one road. Perhaps the street name will display when you turn onto it.

This will be the third time I've said that the 9f crossed a street and the street name did not show. I don't understand the disbelief you are showing...it's right in the gif in the OP. If you've played GTA IV before, you'll know that street names of cross streets show up before the street is encountered, mimicking the purpose of street signs in real life (giving the driver time to prepare). This observation is very elementary.

It's my guess that a relatively early build was shown.

No. The intersection crossed is in this photo. The 9f nearly misses an SUV crossing the 9f's current street and then a police SUV. Did you even watch the gif?

I'm wondering the same about you.
It didn't go into any street.
It went through an intersection.
What name would pop up there?

As seen in these two screenshots from GTA IV, cars do not have to turn on side streets for the name of the side street to appear. The street name being crossed will be displayed. EDIT: I am expecting this same feature in V.

Logically, the name of the street being crossed would be shown.

But in the GIF he's not crossing a street, he's going down a street.

Lol dude. The 9f crosses the street in the foreground. There's traffic lights, on both sides of the intersection to let you know you're at an intersection. No cross street is shown.

EDIT: You can even see a dark SUV beginning to cross, not to mention the intersection shown on the mini-map.

Well, yes kind of. When Niko gets in a cab in IV he says the street name or location out loud to
the driver.

I know this forum has a deep hate for GTA5Videos for some reason, but I think their HUD video was actually pretty good. Check it out.

There is some stuff in the video I didn't know about the HUD, so they did a good job. icon14.gif

True, but he made it sound causal, as if the presence of taxi cabs means street names will be present in game. This is obviously faulty logic, so there's no correlation. Now street names do appear in the game while in the taxi, but street names are also present outside of the cab too.

Of course this thread is about the HUD not street names itself. Maybe someone can email Rockstar games!

Put this together in photoshop so you can put it in place of the current one, it's exactly the same but doesn't have the gameplay in the background, making it easier to see the stats.
