Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark 3 : Harold

Read that book in 3rd grade. I didn't sleep very much after that.

I remember that book. Those morbid illustrations scared me more than the stories did.

Edit:

Actually nvm, that story still creeped me out. f*cking dolls man.

Distorted faces used to scar the sh*t out of me. I couldn't even look at one until the age of about 7, like this:

I also had a phobia of dwarfs until I was about 11, don't know how I got over it, just realized how stupid it was but it was a genuine phobia.

Not outright terrifying, but it certainly can catch you off guard.

When I was 4, I saw a flyer for a missing child posted on a train station bulletin board, right next to a PSA-type flyer about contaminated pork, with two photos of raw pig flesh. Both flyers had similar layouts and not being that good of a reader at the time, I was horrified when I interpreted them as a news about the child missing being killed and cut up, the photos showing his mangled corpse. I was afraid to enter train stations for a few years till I realized the truth.

That whole movie freaked me out.
It was something about the animals talking, according to my mum.

Oh God, I haven't seen one of those in years, thankfully. I hated them, I did get scared late at night when they came on, even though it was just a test. The sound is obnoxiously loud and the voice recording is weird haha

The first time I ever saw someone smoke a cigarette I legit though he was pulling a gun out to kill me. Also those buzzing bugs that look like giant flies, I used to think those were actually rattlesnakes in the trees. Other than that and being kidnapped and brutally murdered, I was pretty much without worry as a kid.

Almost forgot thunderstorms. I was afraid of those for a long time. Couldn't tell you why.
