game is +18, you are 14.

That doesn't matter...

Yes, it does. That's why there is a age rating system in the first place. Sometimes kids aren't just supposed to play some games, watch some movies and other stuff. No matter if this has an influence or not. Law is law. But then again, who cares.. dozingoff.gif

Don't.

Do some work or some simple things as selling your old stuff on Ebay.
So just earn your own money and buy it yourself. Easy

Nobody gives a damn about that.

I've been playing GTA since I was 9 years old. It's really up to the parents to decide what their kids play.

Don't get it. period. If you still need to ask you parents for sh*t, you aren't responsible or mature enough. I'm old enough to get my own money with my job and old enough to walk up to the store and the gamestop owners allow me to buy it because they are nerds like me and know a couple months is too long to wait to be legally old enough and I'm not getting my parents...

Tell your dad to go to the store and buy it for you or else you will cut off his f*cking balls, fry them and then serve them to the homeless.

It does a matter. Buying a video game which is 18 and you aren't 18 or above, is against the law. But, I have to agree, it all comes down to how mature the person playing the game is and knows the difference between a video game and the real world.

Should I save up my money and have my friend buy it for me? Thanks and ALL help is greatly appreciated smile.gif

Well that sucks, I'm 14 and parents don't have a problem with any game, I buy.

Problem is do YOU buy it?

Get your own money at 14?

The only thing I can think of is spending money.. but really it's still their money. So stop being an ass because I bet you used your parents money at 14.

OT: I'm surprised because I've never seen a parent not buy them a game but If I was you, I'd ask someone else to get it you.

f*ck the people commenting: "You're to young! Don't get it" f*ck you. If you was in his place you would've get the game, stop acting like you suddenly are responsible cause if you was 14 years old you wouldn't wait until you're old enough.

Its not against the law, just some stores voluntarily enforce it (like gamestop). Idk what country youre studying law but this for America.

QUOTE
Is it illegal to sell or rent M (Mature) or AO (Adults Only) rated games to customers under 17 and 18 years of age respectively?
A ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2011 (Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Association/Entertainment Software Association) found that video games are a constitutionally-protected form of expression, and that laws restricting their sale or rental based upon violent content are unconstitutional. That said, ESRB supports retailers' voluntary policies restricting the sale or rental of M (Mature) and AO (Adults Only) computer and video games in the United States and Canada to customers who are at least 17 and 18 years of age, respectively (unless permission from a parent has been obtained). Through efforts such as the ESRB Retail Council (ERC) and a strong commitment on the part of major video game retailers, retail stores have vastly improved the rate at which they comply with their store policies, as measured both by the ERC mystery shopper audits as well as audits conducted by the FTC.

Law is made by humans and humans can change it. In some countries it's perfectly fine to sleep with or marry girls at very young age. In others it's set at 18. So, both are laws, which is right?

The only law we should have is moral law.

Because you will find idiot gamers who don't know the difference between a game and reality and they try these sorts of things. Younger children are more likely to get inspired by seeing the reaction of Trevor laughing whilst killing someone and they will do it. Stuff like this has happened all across the world, it isn't just the states.
