It's not that deep unless there is a decal system. The decals are what make it truly awesome and personal, because that's what takes the most time.

It's nice making a car and knowing that practically no one will have an identical one. Without decals, all the cars will be plain and boring.

I wouldn't think it's as deep as they say.

They're pretty much having things that go on all cars like hoods, exhaust tips, and spoilers, with probably one or two preset bodykits per car. That's very shallow, Saints Row already does that.

Who the f*ck cares about decals? It's just retarded symbols on the side of the car that make no difference. If you think the customization isn't deep, then boy you are one massive ignorant retard. Tuning is about ENGINE TUNING, Exhausts, Turbo, Spoilers and etc. ALTHOUGH, decal doesn't seem to be far off being in the game.

I'm sorry, but when I think of car customization, I think of creating wicked designs, and using my imagination to create the baddest car on the road. There is more you can do with decals than just creating a patch work pile of junk. In most games you can combine the decals to create a masterpiece work of art. Or there can be pre-designed body designs. I would recommend watching Counting Cars on History to get a picture of what I'm talking about. Or go play one of the NFS Underground games, or Midnight club. There is only so much one can do with body kits and such, but with decals and/or custom paint jobs, you can take it as far as your imagination lets you.

P.S. By the sounds of it you're the ignorant one.

Do you guys think that you'll be able to keep the cars now? I mean instead of the usual parking space, a parking space with a spawn.

Spending all this money and time to customize a car just to lose it because you had it at the start of a mission would seem to cheapen the value of money and cars in the game. In the previous games you were better off knowing where great cars would spawn rather than risk driving your rare car away from your parking spot. Every time you drove your rare car in a fun way it was likely you would lose it.

Totally agree bro

I really love adding decals to my car, must be why I love forza and Mcla so much
I really do think there is gonna be a decal system but they may keep it as a 'surprise'

^ I'm not that bothered about decals personally, but I see what you mean. I just don't see the appeal of 'go faster' patterns all over my car, each to their own though.

Me, I'm excited about the tyre smoke colour and lights.

It was mentioned in the CVG interview that you can customize horns. Small but neat feature.

If you leave your car, it goes to the impound lot where you have to pay a fee to get it back.

Imagining pimping out a Phantom (Trailer truck).

I say there should be around 250 vehicles, 200 of them just cars, trucks, vans, pick ups, etc.

I heard that if your credit gets immobilized (not blown up) and you have to ditch it, you can pick it up a later time at an impound lot. That's what they guy from R* north said in the interview today

tbh that would even be more than in NFS UG2

1000 different parts can be right. I dont think he misspoke

lets think about it:

we know that there are 26 Wheels. and even if there are about 100 different body parts + engine + breaks+ nitro+ bulletproof tires + cage + exhausts and so on. that would still be far from 1000.

so I guess over 1000 combinations sounds more likely than 1000 Parts. unless they count all the colors to it

HORN SOUNDS? I might as well take an electric or compact car and slap a train horn in it. So I can drive to the forest and scare animals or like the lady from the gameplay video said, be hunted by.

Decals are important. It makes the car a lot more personal. Instead of just getting a car and putting all the parts on it, decals actually let you put time into it.

The other day I made this car, and if it didn't have decals, it wouldn't be unique at all. Anyone can slap a bodykit onto a car and buy all the performance parts, but not everyonr can do nice designs.

1000 Combinations is so easy to get 2 even if you don't count the colours.

I did not count colors as part of ghe combinations.
I already posted it in the other thread.

With say 10 wheels, 10 body parts and 10 exhausts you would already have 1000 combinations.

Adding like the horns, and hoods, you would have like way way more combinations.
Saying that, it really is confusing that he says 1000 combinations.
Unless we have way less different parts of the car to customize, he probably meant something different or really misspoke

I thought they said in the video(or maybe Game informer) that you could do bulletproof tires and body panels. I'd imagine that would mean doors etc. You may have to pay to make each piece bulletproof. They didn't mention BP glass though. But I'd imagine glass will be an option.

I wonder if they'll do gas tanks since you can puncture gas tanks and light the trail of fuel...

I think it will be 1000 options. It's not that hard to get to. Wheels will probably be fairly generic or will translate to each car respectively. Truck wheel options for trucks, tuner options for tuner cars, etc. And the same goes for hoods, etc. And body kits/bumpers will probably need to be fit to each car, but probably the same style or similar(again vehicle type specific) It would be stupid to think that R* would put all this time and effort into customization and then cop out by giving you the same options for every car.

Just my $.02
