It'd be amazing if it was modern pop only because irl that's actually my towns top 40/ pop station.

Hell no. Pop (especially modern pop) is a disgrace. How can you listen to so called artists like Kesha, singing about alarms then suddenly going to a nightclub, or Rebecca Blacksinging about a day in the f*cking week? Jesus.. these kids earn millions of dollars while damaging the name of music and singing about a bunch of sh*t.

I agree, it's talentless smackheads like Kesha who make me hate modern pop.

Check it:

"NON STOP POP 100.7 FM".

What do you guys think the pop music will be like? Will they bring back 80's pop or will they use modern pop? And if they do modern pop, will they use real-life songs, or will they make their own pop music, like they did in III/LCS?

They will never make their own songs again.

I hope so. The music was the only thing in III I didn't like. It was cool, because this whole feature was new, but most of the music was annoying biggrin.gif

Not all pop are sh*te, im sure they wont put ultra-mainstream artists (besides Fergie and Enrique Iqlesias which is confirmed)

Not exactly. They usually use placeholders in demos shown to the press. Any of the "confirmed" tracks not included in trailers/videos may not make the final cut. Before IV came out, the press reported hearing songs by Gwen Stefani and The Rolling Stones, neither who were in the final game.

I can imagine that they were originally in IV, but they ended up cutting them out at the last minute. I remember going through TLAD's files and finding out that there were a good more songs planned than what actually ended up in the game.

Yeah, well, that's the idea of placeholders. They are intended to be in the game, or at the very least represent how the final station will sound, but are left out because they feel wrong or licensing falls through.

Hmm.... what if the billboard is only a cosmetic?

Remember billboard with this picture in GTA III? the radio itself is not featured ingame

That billboard... oh my god. The nostalgia. Thanks darkdude.

On topic, I'm hoping for a lot of 80s, 90s, and a bit of current pop.

This is technically part of the newly created "Rock" genre at the time but was also Pop at the time as well and it's basically about the time of day and going out to the club (or disco or sockhop or party or whatever). It was a #1 hit on the Billboard Singles chart and also ranked #1 on the UK Pop chart.

He also made this follow-up song which is slightly different sounding but the same basic idea.

That was actually a commercially released Pop song back in the 1970s and topped out at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

So it's not like those ideas in music haven't been used many many times over the past half-century if not longer.

Probably modern pop, there's fergie and enrique iglesias on the soundtrack so I imagine they'd be on this station. An 80's station would probably refer to itself as "hits of the 80's" or something like that, not pop.

But hey, there's always a chance that it's one of those variety stations and they include pop from the 80's to now.

Rockstar won't make it THAT bad. And if you hate the station, don't listen to it. Simple.

It better be 80s. If it's 90s or newer then it's just a waste of disc space to me.

I agree on the 80s part. 90s isn't bad too though. wink.gif But later than 90s is indeed trash^2.
