I hope that they are trolling us and the final HUD is the classic one, or at least we have the option to change the HUD.

Maybe, but it still doesn't completely make sense being that slot is meant for the multiplayer character not singleplayer data.

It makes total sense. "83 days until you can use this slot and play online" - makes perfect sense.

It is a count down, something that won't exist after Sept 17th and can only be seen after that by perhaps setting back the clock on your console.

Then they have officially gone full-retard, because that is the most retarded thing I have ever heard about them saying. It's a count down, and that goes to show us all how outside of the loop IGN really is.

I thought similar, except I thought it was hospital not prison, and that it was the player's MP character, who had been hired for an SP heist.

Why would anyone in their right mind think that number was anything other than a count down? Why would you ever even entertain the assumption it is something other than "multiplayer unlocks in 83 days"?

What could possibly have people actually thinking this is something for the game itself, other than the countdown? Why would you have to wait WEEKS in real life time, just to do something in the game? A day already takes 48 minutes as of GTA IV. You're talking about 83 two-hour sessions here - and V is probably even longer days, like 5 minutes = 1 hour instead of 2 minutes = 1 hour or something like that.

Nothing in a GTA game will ever take longer than 6 days of game time. 83 most certainly never.

If it were an in-game timer for some single player event or someone in the hospital or whatever, it's off by about 82 days and 23:45 hours. Because nothing like that will EVER take longer than 15 minutes of play time.

This game is not being made for the fanboys who will LIVE their life inside GTA. It is being made for 30 to 60 minute sessions of grown up gamers who have lives and can thus relate to the joke on life that GTA is. It is not concerned with simulating a year of life, or 83 days of it for that matter, just so that you don't have to live your own.

This game is being made for entertainment fans and people who live life, to see it recreated in a game - nothing will take 83 days. Not even the in-game story length will be more than a month, tops. LOL 83 days til crew member gets out of prison - that takes the cake man, IGN are stupid, and should be taken off of the internet.

It's a countdown, for when multiplayer will work, for people who get the game early, and in this case, we are seeing it in early video, with a much higher number than will ever show to actual consumers - which shall not exceed 7 days, if not only 2 or 3 max.

Level 83 days.

Makes perfect sense...

I think the 83 days is the amount of days in game you've played since you started.

It wouldn't. It's a countdown, until the MP unlocks. Nothing more.

Why would MP be unlocked 14 days after the game is released?

Could possibly be your multiplayer in-game time, or as someone said before, the amount of time alive since your character last was released from the hospital.

Since there is a working economy and in the gameplay video we say the character had a round 50k so maybe 83 days is how long you've been out of mp and how far things have progressed, maybe in terms of heist availability and stock status. Maybe if you end up buying sertain stocks or businesses then maybe they build residuals over time.

Or it could be the in game timer to the availability to hesits, how long the heat is still investigating. Its really hard to pin down.

Once again: Why would information like that be listed in the character wheel, in the MP character's spot?

It just darned on me after looking at the trailer for the thousandth time today, it could be possible that the 83 days has something to do with that skyscaper being built downtown. If not that, perhaps 83 days to raise "x" amount of dollars to pay to the epsilonism group or some other entity. Still not sure how that would relate to the forth character or the "introduction" of said character or online mode. It's hard to predict because of Rockstars proclamations about this being such a paradigm shifting game.

It is also should be noted that the original game "framework" that Max Payne 3 and GTAV appears to be built off of was called 8 days , I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned before.

What if it's an in-game countdown until the next major heist? Giving you a certain amount of prep time to gather the necessary weapons and vehicles, outfits, masks and crew members before you have to go in whether you're unprepared or not?

That actually also makes sense

The most, really.

I think it is a count down to how many days until GTA Online will unlock.

We are seeing it with "83 days", but the people who get the game 2 or 3 days, sometimes a week in advance to launch, they will see "5 days" "4 days" and so on.

wow.gif YES. SO THEN THE EARLY GAMERS CANT GET ONLINE WITH THEIR GAMESTOP WORKERS AND PLAY ONLINE

Apparently they all think that the video was either shot today or was live streamed. It didn't occur to them that it could have been shot two weeks ago.

When this video was shot/edited there were 83 days until the MP servers went online. If it were seen today it would have said 68 days.

I think it means multiplayer is unavailable at that time and will be available in 83 days. That means the trailer was actually made 2 weeks ago.

So its a reminder to themselves the schedule of release. Thats actually the smartest yet most simplistic thing I've heard of. It only makes sense too considering they played all the builds of the game every day. . Yikes.. My last post here.
