Saw that too, I thought for a second it might have been like a timer until "end of the world" like Majora's Mask or something lol.

Seems logical that it could be time since logged in online.

My wild guess: you can "hire" your GTA Online characters to be part of your crew for a heist in SP. However, if they die during the heist, they can't be used in SP again for a while. Their medical coverage is terrible, you see.

Multiplayer character.

Yeah, I wonder if you could use your MP character in single player. dozingoff.gif

^I think it's this, indicating 83 days until MP (since the time of this recording) is selectable.

That would be real cool, I'm not gonna lie, but I'm a bit skeptical on that. Would be fun to see that kind of a feature, though.

I can't put it together. Maybe it's a a countdown from R*? Some kind of motivational kick in the butt when they test the game? But why should that be part of an official gameplay video?

Maybe some things take time in MP to develop but time passes for your character even if you are not online. So having this might give you an oppurtinity to check it.

Maybe it's just "days passed in SP" but why should this be such an important information so it got a plance among the character selection thingy?

What if it's an in-game countdown until the next major heist? Giving you a certain amount of prep time to gather the necessary weapons and vehicles, outfits, masks and crew members before you have to go in whether you're unprepared or not?

Could it be a counter of in-game days? So you know how active you've been with that character? Say in this example the person playing has played as Michael for a total of 83 in-game days. If they hovered over one of the other characters the day counter would change accordingly.

Perhaps there is some significance to this stat? There could be some significance to how long you spend with each character ...

my guess would be how long you have been playing the current game for, ( so rockstar have been playing for a total of 83 days ) and on september 18th ours will say 7 hours or 13 hours ( depends on addiction lol ) . just my guess

Maybe the "days" are missions left until your MP character is playable in SP. Or perhaps they're locking MP until you finish the main story.

Okay, not at all likely for either.

I think it is a count down to how many days until GTA Online will unlock.

We are seeing it with "83 days", but the people who get the game 2 or 3 days, sometimes a week in advance to launch, they will see "5 days" "4 days" and so on.

This is what I'm thinking too. The other suggestions make no sense.

Maybe, but it still doesn't completely make sense being that slot is meant for the multiplayer character not singleplayer data.

It might have something to do with your multiplayer character but if you notice in some of the other screenshots, it's not even there. It just has a blank character space with no day count.

Even though time flies much faster than in real life 83 in-game days still seems like a long time to wait until your next heist.

In 4:00 you can see a hacker, a gunman and a driver to hire, 83 days should be the day you can hire them

This seems the most logical. 83 days till last played online I would think they be testing MP like everyday.

I was watching IGN's rewind of the gameplay, and their idea was that the 83 days was a placeholder for a crew member who is in prison, for 83 more days.
