Turned on the news and it turns out some jet airliner from Seoul wrecked while landing at San Francisco International.

I agree.

Do they know if the wreck was caused by the pilots or weather? The story's still developing.

That's just terrible! Is there any word on how many people are seriously wounded or dead?

Here's a video of the accident, it doesn't show how it happened but just the events after

https://www.youtube....bed/0dFtmSybpuw

Apparently a witness said the plane "began to cartwheel" and some of it broke off

It's extremely rare to see plane crash survivors. But I hope that everyone's OK.

I can't see there being many survivors.  Sounds like it was a really rough landing.

It's so sad that news media is still so slow, that they still aren't even reporting on survivors.

Lucky people, that's for sure.

{edit} Not lucky because they crashed, but because it seems like they are fine. The guy tweeting made it seem like nobody is even hurt. icon14.gif

Thank God there are survivors, this accident looks rough. My guess is that it landed too soon, as the debris field starts at the very end of the runway

Thanks to some superb engineering. Reporters are saying that it's likely a piloting error. I wonder how Boeing will look coming out of all of this.

That fuselage looks ripped to f*ck. I'm guessing most of the damage was caused by the fire though, when everyone was already off the plane. That's crazy though. You always think flying is so safe, and then sh*t like this happens. Korean pilots, so maybe there was a female one. I'm just playing the percentages here.

It said on the news the tail hit the runway and then the plane started breaking up.

You have to admit, something that looks so destructive as this yielding zero deaths means the planes are still pretty darn safe.

Meanwhile...http://rt.com/news/quebec-canada-train-fire-741/
1 dead, 60 missing. Sorry to dampen your days, people.
Just thought this was kinda interesting.

There is a picture on "uReport" or something going around of a passenger who just got off the plane, and at that point in the picture, it was not engulfed in flames and the picture shows many people off and exiting the plane. I'd post it, but I'm on my ipad, it's just good to know many survived

I change my mind. I get the feeling that they know about the reports of survivors, but aren't saying anything because they want to squeeze some ratings out of people on a Saturday.
