My desktop computer often crashes when I'm playing GTA IV for too long. Maybe this happens due to overheating issues, because temperature of CPU raises up to 90°C while playing the game... So I am wondering, how to prevent my computer from over-heating (if it's even possible)?

And if that doesn't work, then it's time to get a better cooler. They are pretty cheap these days.

Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs)
2.39 GHz, 4 GB RAM
These are my computer's specifications (I have Windows XP btw).

Second, have you ever done any "hardcore" (from a certain point of view) PC fixing before? If not... do yourself a favor and have someone look at this for you. Doesn't have to cost you anything but make sure it's someone who doesn't do more harm than good. CPUs and Mainboards are expensive.

|That just solves the outcome, not the reason of overheating.|
I was going to say the same, but if he's happy he might as well just leave it until it comes back haha
