You could always run it through steam big picture mode, then you can rebind to your heart's content!

How do you do that? I don't play with steam :/

You can add gta-sa.exe as a non-steam game in your steam library. There is a button to "add a game" on the bottom left of your library page.
Then, start big picture mode (there is a tiny icon on the top right that looks like a controller) and browse to gta-sa in your library.
You can access the controller options there. What controller are you using? Steam supports the Xbox, PS3 and steam controllers.

Been a while since anything happened in the topic, and I totally forgot to post about this...

Thanks to a recent contribution from jakebriggs SA version of GInput can now use gamepad and mouse at the same time! Movement works nearly seamlessly, more or less how you'd expect it. There is one more caveat when you are using IV controls - mouse buttons don't map to correct actions correctly (it's been like this since day one in all 3 games and happens on ControlsSet other than 1, plus concerns both mouse and keyboard) but I'm fairly sure I also know how to fix this...

Once I finally tackle it, that should be a major enough milestone to warrant a new release - after all, 100% seamless keyboard/mouse and gamepad controls in any controls set sound fairly cool.

RawMouse is a separate entity.

RawInput isn't meant to be used with keyboards (it can be, but it's not worth the effort), so no.

Simultaneous gamepad and mouse is great for the steam controller! It keeps the button prompts showing the gamepad but allows you to use the mouse for aiming.

Just wondering if Dualshock 2 could have full software-based pressure-sensitive buttons support without need of special adapters

I'm not sure how you are supposed to connect it to a normal x86 IBM PC-compatible system without a special adapter.

Spoiler

Hello all,

I just recently found out about the mods and decided to try them because I have a disability affecting my muscles, meaning I have to use a controller on PC games.

I've just tried initialising 3 but the .txd file doesn't seem to be recognised. It's currently in the MSS folder as the ReadME file states, but the game kicks me out at the loading screen.

I apologise if this has been resolved for someone else, but to be honest, I'm not going through 57 pages.

Thanks.

The TXDs go in the "models" folder, not "mss".

I mistyped. The main .ini and .asi file were in mss, I moved them to the game's root folder. The TXD files WERE in models but weren't being recognised.

Now I'm getting a "Unhandled Exception: c0000005 at address: 00000000" error at the load screen after opening the game.

Then you're using the wrong EXE, which version do you have?

Version 1.1 Steam.

I got it working by moving the .ini and .asi files back into mss. Works like a dream.
Now to try the other two editions of the mod on the other games.

Hello guys.

So I have a laptop with Windows 10 and a x360 controller and my GTA SA game is a french retail version v1.00.

I'm trying to use this mod to play on my laptop with my xbox 360 controller but no luck so far.

I installed Silent's ASI Loader 1.3 and GInputSA 1.11 but the triggers and the right stick are still not working.

Also, the in-game help displays are still showing the pc controls.

Either the loader or the mod isn't working for me. Here are 2 screenshots of my game's folder and in game : http://imgur.com/a/MqraK

If anyone can help me out it would be awesome.

Have a nice day.

That's a crack right ? My version is legit and working, why should I download this ? Also I'd prefer if I still had french subtitles for my brother, he doesn't understand english very well.

You think hoodlum us will work with an EU version of the game btw ?

yes it will, but it will only show English and Spanish in options. You could use the EU hoodlum one, but compatibility isn't assured. Or you could rename french.gxt to spanish or american.gxt in text folder. (backup original first)

Also every mod these days depends on these no-cd exes (crack is so ugly word) and it's perfectly legal to download one, when you have bought the game already.

Well thanks it works now. I'm gonna try hoodlum EU and see if it works too so I can have the french subtitles.

Edit : It works with hoodlum 1.0 EU too, awesome ! Thanks again for helping.

In PS2 VC and III there's no vibration feedback when driving on the grass.

In Xbox VC (haven't tested III) there's small vibration feedback on the grass (like 30% of full power)

In GInput it's in full power on every grass surface.

Is it related on col files? Or it's hardcoded like this in PC versions to vibrate 100% on 'grass' col? Could it be adjusted in future updates?

And the second question - I posted some photos of control schemes from xbox gta trilogy (http://gtaforums.com...entry1069661011).

Is there any chance to see xbox schemes in Ginput in future updates?

Silent is aware of the Xbox control scheme. He just didn't have time to do it yet.
