I have been a long time lurker of the forums, and decided to join and show mine - shoot me.

Not gloating at all, this is a show us your setup thread is it not?  I am far from a bragger, most of my neighbors don't even know I have such a setup...

The speakers are in the columns.

Hi there , I absolutely love the set up you have, we are actually in the process to have an extension done on our home and there will be roughly the same size of room below the house and I would love to attempt this as well, if you don't mind me asking, all in all roughly how much did it all cost to get the materials (wood, projector, seats, everything basically).

thnks.

Well, Projector and Chairs cost me the most.  All the woodwork, include the framed posters (which they are printed on fabric, with acoustic rock wool behind them), and we double drywalled the room, and used a vinyl rubber type barrier between the two pieces of sheetrock for sound also, we did this because it shares a wall with one of my kids.  So for all that, and screen, it was $4900, but I did all the work myself. I already had all the speakers, and subs so I didn't have to buy those for the room.  The projector I splurged on, but I have a buddy who runs a Home automation company, and Runco did a killer sale on this LED projector - as no lamp - so it is rated for 30k hours or something.  I am not going to say what I paid for it, but the projector itself retails for $24,999, and I didn't even pay 20% of that.

thanks,  appreciate the quick response. If your buddy ever does gets another bargain in the future don't hesitate to contact me!!! lol

thanks again.

I have a 15" old CRT tv sadly... :( if you want to help me out buying a cheap lcd tv please donate me some money I accept anything from 1 dollas to 5. Would it be against the forum rules if I actually started a topic on this? I will suffer on my 12 year old television from the begining of 2000s...

Come on now, if you want my money you should at least write me a proper Nigerian letter.

A few weeks ago I finally did something I've been meaning to do for a long time: I added a couch and TV to my "office." Still have lots of wires everywhere, but I'm just glad I finally pulled the trigger on getting the gear together. Can't wait for GTA V.

I don't know about the rest of you with projectors but I get dizzy when playing video games on mine.

I've tried playing Black Ops standing in front of it with a throw of 84"x48" at 15' and couldn't do it.

Besides my projector is good for watching movies in 720p but not playing video games. It doesn't give you the sharpness you need if you plan on sniping across the map.

I use my 110" projector for NHL14 & Madden25 and thats it.  If I try to play a FPS on it its barf city for me.  I can play third person shooters, but they have to be running off my PC at a constant 60fps, otherwise its barf city.

I wish I could post a photo but I can't since I'm using the mobile version and I'm pretty new here. But I have an android tablet for GTA Forums, a laptop for GTAV.Net or Rockstar Social Club. For a TV, I have a 60 in 3D LED TV but I might use the one in my room which is a 32 in Emerson LED TV. I have the PS3 Slim with I think 160-200GB. I'm not completely sure but it has a lot of memory. Also Instead of buying gaming headphones I've found some over ear headphones laying around and I've found a way to hook them up to the TV for the game sounds. Also when I'm not using them, I've rigged up a Surround Sound System to where I can switch between the two.

I sound like a penny pincher but ill probably only do this for this game only so I don't feel the need to buy $200 headphones.

If its really your place then you f*cking won best setup of the year :) :^:
I'm sorry but if you truly believe this is his setup then you're an idiot. smh

I don't know why he has to be an idiot to believe it. I already posted a link to my thread over on avsforums as proof it's mine. I built the theater myself with my own hands, and tools, did all the work myself. You can check it out here...

http://www.avsforum....-robins-theater

As I stated before, feel free to send me a message on that forum and you will get a reply from me....

i want you to video skype with me. while in that room. holding up a sign with my profile name and eating pizza. then ill believe it

Well, I don't want to skype, and its morning, and I don't want pizza..... this should do...

That beanbag chair is the best. I bet that is the best seat in the house.

I may be mistaken but I think I asked you a question years ago on that avsforum regarding why my PS3 won't work with my projector. I remember that room on that forum.

Can't say that about my beamer, its damn sharp. So sharp, that you can see every mistake a graphics-engine has. ^^ I'll admit, that Games at this consoles generation will look better on smaller screens, because beamers are showing the graphical limitations very good.

What beamer is yours?

@ nismo13:

Very nice and stylish. Its cool, to have a "cinema room", living room and homecinema takes to much place.

Sorry but I don't know what a beamer is. It is a Sharp and was cheap at that time $699 in 2008. It doesn't even have a HDMI port on the back but does have a DVI-D whatever that is. I have a HDMI to DVI-D cable so I can watch Blu-Rays on it. I don't even use it anymore and probably will invest in a 70" LED TV before I will another projector. Especially since the prices of these TV are getting cheaper by the week.

I have a 55" LG LED that I use now and will go into the bedroom when I get the 70" when finances allow it but that will be a while since my Scion needs tires now.

My set up.

55" sony KDL A Series TV, last of the bulb light tv's and I humbly think it looks better than most folks LCD's, although I've done the color temp thing with it.

Onkyo Receiver

Outlawy Audio Amps

Polk LSi speaker 5.1 set up

Line Conditioner

and a Marantz CD player just because

And two walmart recliners

I like how you shoved all your sh*t to the right side of the pic, as if attempting to "hide" that you're a pig.

Beautiful setup man, I was wondering what tv is that?

Hey Richard, It's a Panasonic E-Series TH-L42E6Z (42"), cheap and ain't the best, but it gets the job done for me.
Thanks, I may look into it as I am looking for a tv.

I wouldn't really call mine much of a set up, just my TV and PS3 in a little corner of my room, next to my mirror/closet. But hey, it gets the job done  :^:

All my games are in that little tub on the left, along with my GTA V pre-order reciept  :D

It looks like a blacked out window. If you look at the picture above it you see that the TV is on the wall, with a GTAV screenshot. Same one reflected in the window
