Brony detected.

Nope.

However if you feel like you want to think my opinion is invalid, I am a furry. Similar groups, but hey. Seems that that's the only reason I could be bothered actually knowing about the brony fandom instead of just using them as a target for hate, though I do like to actually know about controversial topics to form a rational opinion, you know?

Also, I don't really know why being a brony would have affected anything I said but I guess you'd just want to insult me or something.

Yeah, if I could never see another spray in a Source game with sh*tty anthro art that's be great.

Also, thank you for ruining Deviantart.

Every single brony/furry account on deviantart must be terminated and the owners behind it must be IP banned from the site for good.

Wait now... What now??? So you actually dress up as an animal during sex? Isn't that what furries do? Well...that and walk around Walmart with their tails and furry boots for attention.

Let me reiterate, I like to know about controversial topics before forming an opinion about them. For instance, everyone between cubanwhip's post and here have not. No, I'm not mentally ill. No, I don't even use sprays on source games. No, I haven't even been on deviantart. No, I don't 'dress up' or ask for attention. Neither, in all respects, do most furries or bronies.

You are all finding the bad apples and then basing your ideas off of these few people.

Please, if you are still confused as to why I think you should stop being aimless dicks to random people, by all means ask questions. Just stop throwing sh*t at you screen without looking at the target. Thanks.

No one is being a "aimless dick", most people are going to find it extremely odd.

It doesn't make their opinion invalid just because you don't personally like it. Opinions by definition are never wrong nor right.

If you actually do that stuff, than why act surprised when people react negatively? You should be used to it by now.

Precisely.

As said before, most bronies and furries don't were fursuits, tails, jack off to brony/furry porn, etc.

Plus some people also act like being a brony/furry is what defines a brony/furry; it is not. It's a side thing for most, like going on a brony/furry forum every now and then - it would be hard to know if a person is a common brony/furry without directly talking about it.

It shouldn't be found 'extremely odd' because there isn't anything extremely odd happening. A lot of the furry community (don't know about bronies) actually look down a bit on the few sexulised people because of the stereotype brought about by it.

And sorry if I seemed too condensing previously, this kind of thing is always annoying.

I still don't get the big deal about ponies. This goes to both sides, the ones that love them, and the ones that hate them. Not going to bring up the clop sh*t because that's on a whole other level of creepy sh*t.

Me, a friend kept asking me to give MLP a chance, and it took him gifting me a Steam game for me to finally say "sure". He streamed an episode, I watched it from the beginning until the end, and I didn't laugh or smile once. But that was it, never heard about it again, and I got a free game about it.

Nowadays, I hear people bitching about ponies/bronies the moment they're spotted. The haters have become more annoying and vocal than the fans, pretty sad. confused.gif

But what then does being a 'furrie' entail if not a fetishisation of anthropomorphic animals?

An interest/liking for anthropomorphic animals specifically.

Following this, bronies are those with an interest/liking for MLP.

Nothing sinister going on tounge.gif

Would you say that there is an argument that those find comfort in simplistic tv shows such as MLP or furrie shows may feature somewhere on the autistic scale?

Clearly defined boundaries between good and bad, the constant affirmation and clarification of interpersonal relationships, non-complex story lines and character arcs etc. The type of person who, in my experience, is drawn to MLP/furrieism is usually socially maladjusted and lacks the means or the capacity for normal human interaction. Therefore the elements of these shows listed above appeal to them for exactly the same reasons that such shows appeal to socially primitive children.

I'm not having a dig, I'm interested to hear your opinion as you say you post on furrie forums. Does your greater experience match this analysis? Do you yourself struggle with social interaction?

I do personally think they could use psyciatric evalutation for the most part, but I (second quote) was specifically refering to the ones who are sexually interested in those things, which is why I compared those type to pedo's and animal f*ckers.

I fully realize they aren't all like that, and perhaps I should've been more careful with my wording, but there does have to be some underlying mental (abuse..ect) problem to run around dressed as an animal, and especially to pretend to have sex as one, or fantasize about a Pony cartoon meant for 10 and under girls.

Atleast the really sick ones have to have Aspergers or something, I don't see how anyone could find it socially acceptable to want to f*ck a cartoon horse, or f*ck each other dressed as teddy bears. But it seems like they're usually sheltered/socially akward judging from what Google brings up, and (I know, bad source) from what I saw on a episode of My Strange Addictions.

But I guess as long as there are no sexual feeling about it, it's OK since it isn't harming anyone, nor is it extremely sick. At most it'll just make some people uncomfortable.

I have a honest question for anyone who does those things, I was wondering ever since I saw MSA, do you guys get kicked out of stores or school (if applicable) when/if any of you go dressed as a animal? I wonder how a cop would react if they pulled you over like that lmao.

This is going offtopic and getting mixed up a bit, since Bronies and Furries aren't the same thing.

Yo, check it, bro!

I have a question for some of you. How do you feel about other children's cartoons that are popular among smaller groups of adults? (ie: Adventure Time, Family Guy (arguably), Gumby, Daria, Ren and Stimpy, The Loony Tunes, Thundercats, and Invader Zim, just to name a few.) Are these shows any better than Friendship is Magic for some reason? If so, what's the reason?

Those have something to offer to an adult audience. I've watched a couple of episodes of MLP to see what it has to offer to an adult audience. There's nothing what so ever. It was made for little girls and little girls only.

Now this is something that's been on my mind for a while and i didn't actually think it was something big (Until i notice several members with the same... theme should i say)

I don't really know much about them, I've only noticed the significant use of the "my little pony" things

To me it's just another kiddies program. So what are they? another form of furries or something?

Their confusing as well as creepy (There's even a forums designed for them)

Exactly. Family Guy has something for young adults (in essence the show itself is really an "adult" cartoon, in case you didn't notice but yet it's able to sustain a large teenage audience too) and in no way isn't a show for children. Just because it's a cartoon doesn't mean it should be compared to MLP.

Looney Tunes? Alright, don't even compare Looney Tunes to the likes of some childish show about magical ponies that losers with weird fetishes love to praise. It is way more successful (seeing as to how well it's extended into the cultural world of film & television) and better than MLP will be simply because it's able to cater a larger audience and of course its actually entertaining to watch.

I wasn't being a dick, and I did ask a honest question in the interest of gaining knowledge. Granted I may have tossed in the Walmart line just for fun.

I'm guessing the philosophies and ways of furries has changed since I first learned the term(like 10 years ago)...I learned it as people who dress up like animals during sex.

Check this one too! The creator approves of bronies, there was even a reference to them in a promo music video thingy a couple years ago.

@Nipperkins - Doesn't that really depend on what a person (an adult, a child, a furry, whatever) wants in the show? You just didn't like the show because it didn't appeal to you the way it appeals to other people.

@corvettelover @Ben73 - It was a joke about Family Guy's humor being so juvenile, and the majority of fans you meet online being so young. Don't get hung up over it.

@Mockage - And the Looney Tunes is a show about a talking rabbit and duck (and a few other assorted animals) that do absolutely nothing except foil each other's plans with unimaginative cartoon gags for hundreds of episodes. See how point-of-view can f*ck up people's favorite shows? Kid's shows are very easy targets too.

edit: @finn4life - The creator is a female. Get your head out of the patriarch! tounge.gif

The creator is obviously going to pretend to like bronies, he's making loads more money and publicizing the show.

@Loony Tunes, Hundreds of gags with zany wacky animations does get boring After A while but it is just silly fun, anyone can enjoy it now and again. MLP is just a girly show with nothing aimed at adults, you'd be stretching to say it is, there is nothing worthwhile in that show unless you're a little kid, and if there is anything it's extremely rare, there are far better shows to watch so there must be some underlying reason grown males have such an obsession with it.
