[Q]Mod for building shadows?

So I've been looking for a mod for SA that adds shadows for every building. The only thing I've been able to find on the subject, is this topic.

Apparently some Chinese guy was able to do something, and get shadows for every building in the game. Someone posted links to some videos showcasing this.

There was talk about this, OP tried adding shadows to the collision meshes but ended up getting a strange effect.

The topic never really got anywhere, and this is the only thing I've been able to find on this. Is this the only instance of someone working on something like this? Has nobody else really attempted this? It's sad to think that there is one guy out in the world that modded his game to give all the buildings shadows, but kept it to himself.

I'm not really requesting it. From what I've seen, it's pretty time consuming to make - and I doubt anyone here has worked on, or has a download available.

Not only that it is very time consuming, the current method is als buggy, laggy due the inefficient shadow system and may cause crashes if there are too many shadows in some areas.

I recommend you to wait for the release of SA::Render which features a completely new shadow system for all objects and alot of other things like Deffered Lighting, Bump/Normalmapping, Reflective Water, etc.

Holy sh*t, I didn't even know something like that existed - or was even possible.

Glad to see the modding community for SA is still striving.
