is it possible that everytime there are rumors about a new technology that will be released, there always an idiot coming up saying that the japanese already have that? I remember that when PS2 was announced some people even said that in Japan they already released PS3. Some people claimed that their "uncle that went in japan for work" saw that. I even heard someone saying that GTA V was already released in Japan. The iPhone too. Does this happen in your countries too?

I've only heard people say this in regards to Japanese products.

Same here. They get all the good stuff because they make all the good stuff.

so that's probabbly because here a lot of people here met advanced technology late, 10 years ago most of the people didn't have computers or the internet. then where I live people like to talk about stuff they don't know and like urban legends hahaha

My cousin once told me that Japan already had the next Call of Duty (at the time) and that they also have tiny plasma TVs...

When I was in elementary school, a friend told us that the inventor of Ferrari was a trillionaire. Nowadays with the internet, it's pretty hard to take some claims seriously.

I remember when i use to regularly buy "Games Radar" magazine, it was when PS2 was all the rage. In the magazine i saw in Japan they had Silver, Pink, and Blue PS2's. But not solid color pink and blue, they were like a silvery mix. Really nice. In the UK at the time it was black or nothing.

I was so bummed out when i found it this was true, because i knew if it was in Japan now, then we wouldn't have it for at least a year, maybe longer. I ended up getting the satin silver PS2 when it was released in the UK. So in this instance, Japan did have it first.

I hear this a lot.
Also, people in Japan get to see international movies at the theatres early due to the time zone.
And Japan and South Korea are experimental zones for technology because these countries are the most wired and are huge markets for cars and high-tech products manufactured both domestically and from other countries. I wouldn't be surprised if companies in North America and Western Europe sold their products in Japan and South Korea first.

China is heading towards that direction. You can see more VWs in Shanghai than you would in a small German city. (And you could see more BMWs and Audis in Seoul, South Korea than you would in a small German city). Part of the reason is that the East Asian cities are highly populated, and these cities have a growing middle class population, especially in China. (Japan and South Korea already have a large middle class population). For example, Shanghai's total population is over 23 million. Beijing's is over 20 million. And then there are Chinese cities that few people outside of China know of that have populations of over 10 million. Chengdu and Guangzhou are a couple of the examples.

Lol at OP hearing about GTA V being out in Japan, same for the other post about them getting stuff like COD & iPhones early.

They just have more tech gadgets that's all. Some better than ours, take a look at Sonys mobile smartphones over there, cameras have 16-18mp on them already.

Considering I saw a video of a Japanese woman being anally penetrated in a see-through box whilst traversing a city (able to be seen by anyone within viewing distance), then quite literally taking a crap all over the floor of the box, whilst they may indeed "get stuff before others", I wouldn't always say that's always a good thing.

I don't know if this is still the case but didn't Japan generally get video games after everyone else?

I heard that Japan is like 20 years ahead of the western world with technology.

It's a myth. There are some things Japan gets earlier, but that's because it is made in Japan (for example).

There are also a lot of things the West gets earlier.

I appreciate what you guys are doing, trying to cover up Japan so we don't get Jealous, it really is noble, but it's not needed.

Anyway, I heard the PS4 released in Japan about 7 years ago.
