Level - Easy

Tools - Photoshop

Note - I have not used the correct font in this tutorial, so you can use any font you like with sharp edges. I have used Bebas Neue font.

Step 1.
Make a image with any resolution you like and any background. If you are going to make the text in white then the background should be black so that the text will be easily visible.

Step 2.

Use the text tool and type whatever you like, smooth and rasterize the layer.

Step 3.
Now use the Rectangular Marquee tool and make some blocks on words you like. You can select multiple by holding down the shift key.

Step 4.
Use the Move tool and move the selected area left or right slightly.

Step 5
Make some small lines using Rectangular Marquee tool on parts of words. Either press the delete key or use the move tool and move the selected part on desired position. Like in this picture below.

Step 6
Use the Rectangular Marquee tool and select some parts on words that doesn't have sharp edges. and press the delete key. Like in this picture below.

Step 7
Again use the same tool and select parts on words that you erased on step 6. Use the paint tool and fill the selected parts. For example i want to make the words O and U with sharp edges so i have cut off them and filled white color under some part of U and O. Like in this picture below.

Step 8
Now use the text tool and type words and symbols such as X, 6, M, & etc. Set font size you like, i have set 15 and then type them in spaces between words.

Optional

You can turn off background layer visibility and save it in .png if you don't want black background.

What was the last tutorial here? It's been a long time alright!

Great tut man, easy to understand.

I actually have a suggestion, can we move tutorials to the Visual Arts forum? Good tutorial like these get lost in all of the requests.
