One thing I find pretty retarded about this map, is how the water behind the dam leads straight to the coast. So is the ocean just going to slope down the east side of the map to the south like a ramp?

It's nice enough but I still think there's already a couple more accurate maps in the mapping thread.

Sorry, but why did they copy one of the less accurate fan maps? I'm not trying to insult xrCore but he even admits himself that it was drunken guesswork

That's why I find this funny. I am just another fan that follows GTAV. When I heard about CVG doing an extensive mapping I was excited. But then I found out I did most of the map work. I no longer excite.

When I first saw their's, I thought you had leaked it yesterday.

Coming from someone who unfortunately won't have the time to play this as much as I will want to, the map looks massive to me, judging from screenshots and the many maps I've seen.

The city being roughly the size of LC is perfectly fine to me, especially when you see all the character different parts of the city have.

The people that want an enormous city and are disappointed have to realize that in order to get that, you must sacrifice character. Rockstar treats their maps like works of art, to expect a gigantic metropolis with "urban sprawl" and monotony isn't in Rockstar's blood.

Keep in mind the interiors! With all the famous landmarks they've included, you have to expect a lot of awesome interiors.

I've never seen a dam that close to the ocean.. let alone not built on a river. Prove me wrong if I am wrong.

Its not the official map eh, their just guessing on findings.

Yeah, one of the first things I noticed too. Water is flowing uphill somewhere.

You think that is small?! Lol it's a map. Not the actual over head image. Zoom in and put your pinkie on the desert and image a how tiny a little arrow would be in it. It's massive from the players view.

In all of these maps I notice one thing.. the highway going North on the East and Western side of LS always goes all the way North in a useless loop. There has to be something there of importance and not just coastline and a road following the coastline. Another town/city has to be up there for a highway to be built in that direction. It won't make sense to have a road that just loops around the map for no use except maybe a view. I hope a small coastal village at the least is up there in the North.

Considering how awesome they tried to make it sound... it really wasn't. Ripping off someone elses map from here and screwing it up (i.e the dam) at the same time? wow lol mercie_blink.gif

One thing they missed out on this map was the small cities and maybe villages. I think Rockstar said they would have those, but it's impossible to tell where they're gonna be on the map now.

They didn't rip anything off. They've seen the game so they know way more then we do.
They looked at the mapping thread here and it helped them, and they gave credit where credit was due, but they didn't steal anything...
especially considering that Rockstar themselves released pictures of part of the map in the collectors edition images.

They did a good job and it should be quite similiar, although the countryside is way harder to map then the city, so the real deal might be a bit bigger. I also think that there might be a little bit more to the map south of LS. Not much, but at least a little bit more.

Call it CVG's map. I don't want the credit for 4AM sloppywork. They can have it.

Some one asked comparisons of the maps. There are many different variations. Some estimates:

That's not correct estimates, since we know now that GTA V is 3,5 bigger than RDR. But according to author RDR is bigger than San Andreas

this is the first version and they are speculating

its jus their rushed attempt to gather as much from the web regarding the map to include in their web series

hardly call it definitive

No offence, but that is a terrible comparison. Do you honestly see the RDR map size in that picture fitting 3.5x into the V map size in that picture?

You say it was rushed, yet they were five hours late in posting it?

The point I made regarding the dam is a pretty huge flaw for them to make given they are regarded as prominent journalists evidenced by them being invited to a demo showing.

Read my post above. The point of this comparison is to show that according to author RDR is bigger than San Andreas.

This is comparison for a statement that GTA V is bigger "than San Andreas, GTA IV and RDR combined"

Really hoping that that's not how the map would look like.
