I'm actually slightly disappointed by this game.

The CGI trailer made the game looks so much more entertaining than the
gameplay they showed.

Forget the graphics (Which obviously the CGI trailer was better. Detail, damage model wise)
I don't know just looked "meh" and it's less than a year from release now. The landscape looked lifeless to me.

I guess my biggest complaint is it "looks" on the outside like your average Arcade racer except on a gigantic map.

Maybe I just need to see more gameplay....

The car customization did look pretty neat but still..... I really want to like I do confused.gif

I hope I get a next-gen console before this comes out, it will be the next gen equivalent of Burnout Paradise, a massive driving game with a lot of variety to start off the gen. Hopefully trucks and larger vehicles can still go up against faster and lighter cars, albeit with heavy tuning.

I'm still hyped for this, just need to see more gameplay and such... also the lack of rear view mirrors is odd, especially on next gen, seeing as TDU has this feature (admittedly not brilliantly executed) back in 2006.. but I guess it is possible easily on next gen, just they've chosen to not put it in...

Nice, we got some details from that Q&A.

I really can't wait for this game.

That truck on the left is a 2013 Ford Explorer, if I'm not mistaken. Are all vehicles going to be licensed if they're just AI? If not, then the Explorer could be a drive able vehicle... (not sure why it would be but that would be cool) smile.gif

I don't think all the vehicles are licensed, some of them are most probably based on real-life models, like GTA.

I am pumped for this still. I hope this will be the final nail in the coffin for NFS. I expect the sales of The Crew to fall under NFS, the sequel near-matching, and if a third surpassing.

That might even give NFS devs a reason to start trying to make good racing games again. Oh who am I kidding, it's EA!

I swear that I can see a Ford badge on the back of that truck, maybe it's just me.

Yeah, looks like we'll have to wait for more screenshots. I want more news before October though.

I'm more pumped for this game than NFS Rivals.

As most of you have guessed im rather hyped up for this game. and i was just sitting here watching a tv show about a guy who cruises round america looking for decent driving roads. and i disappeared into my brain for a while thinking we can do this on this game.

just imagine your crew starting in new york in some customized beasts, you leave the city via the freeway and then pull off onto winding country roads through forests and farmland endless roads to have fun on. you enter a small farming town pull over for a break then head off towards vegas the farmlands and forests break off into flat desert roads you can see for miles as the sun goes down in front off you.
your headlights are the only thing visable as you cruise over a hill and then there it is lit up like a giant christmas tree. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm gaming porn

sorry for rambling i just want this game and my ps4 now.

Yeah the variety in geography alone will be pretty awesome. I think it'll also be cool in MP, how you'll see different types of people in different areas. People driving muscle cars in the desert area, fancy muscle cars in Los Angeles, tuners in San Francisco, things like that.

I'll get too excited and just endlessly drive around the map, visiting each city and staying there for like ten minutes before driving somewhere else lol. Miami in the video we've all seen looks very nice.

Some more gameplay, Guy is driving a Nissan Skyline R34 with huge off road tyres, Just outside vegas and a canyon race. Tbh the guy driving is terrible lol.

also noticed that The damage gained in free ride auto fixes when you enter a race.

The game just looks stunning. seems they have nailed the enviroments. and it seems that tyres really do affect driving ( the offroad tyes he is using are terrible and slippy on the tarmac.

ENJOY

As a person who is not getting a next-gen console, I am excited. smile.gif

Two of Ubisoft's most interesting games from E3 2013, The Division and The Crew, will appear not just for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as originally confirmed.

They will also come out for the PC and current-gen consoles, in the form of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, at least according to a new report.

The Division impressed quite a lot of E3 attendants, promising to deliver an online experience that's more like an action adventure than a traditional role-playing game.

The Crew, meanwhile, offers a different type of online experience, emphasizing racing both alone and with others.

While the two games were confirmed for the PS4 and Xbox One, a new report from The Examiner reveals that PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 editions are in the works.

Wii U versions aren't likely, according to the inside source, so it seems that Ubisoft's love for the Nintendo platform is running out.

Even my friends that also dislike racing games are very hyped for this game. The 3 main selling points have to be:
-Unreal level of customization
-MASSIVE world
-MMORPG system (leveling, money, friends, crews, etc).

I love how there are more missions besides races, such as mini heists like stealing from armored trucks. I wonder what other types of criminal activities there will be.

Join us as we redefine the racing genre with fun gamemodes like follow the line! Yes that's right you and a friend can get the adrenaline pumping by following a predefined line at really slow speeds. The more you follow our predefined lines the more money you will get.

Fans reaction: man I'm so hyped for this!

I'm sorry but I'm going to call this and say this is going to be the first flop of next gen. Ubisoft doesn't do racing and barely has experience in this genre. It looks to me like they have just cobboed this game together out of sticky back plastic and toilet roll. Not to mention I'm getting a really strong smell of another FUEL in the making, big game world hype hype hype big dissapointment.

It wasn't exactly a thoroughbred racing gaming or showstopper for that matter. I just have my serious doubts about this game. When I first heard about it it spiked my interest but after seeing some gameplay I have some serious questions about the direction they are taking. I do just have a nasty feeling about this title it reminds me of FUEL witch are memorys I wish to leave buried.

I could be wrong but I have a strong suspicion that I'm not. It seems like the hype for this game is outweighing the actual game and its features at the moment witch in my view is a bad sign.

New info from Videogamer.

Ubisoft 'aiming for locked 30FPS' with PS4 & Xbox One : The Crew #1

QUOTE
Ivory Tower and Ubisoft Reflections are "aiming for 30 frames per second locked" with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of next year's open-world racer The Crew, creative director Julian Gerighty has told VideoGamer.com, stating that a higher frame rate would be unrealistic given the size of the world.

"We've never been at 60 frames per second," Gerighty told us during a gameplay presentation this morning. "We've always been aiming for 30 frames per second locked. Today, unfortunately certain PCs have been overheating, so we're having frame rate drops. It's a hardware issue, not a software issue.

"60 frames per second is, of course, what we would all like to obtain," he continued, "but it's such a big world, and with all the online features running, it's just not realistic to obtain that. 30 [frames] locked is really, really good and exactly what we've been focussed on."

On the size of the game world :

QUOTE
"It's obviously not 1:1. If you've ever had a road trip even from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, it's four or five hours away. We're still in the business of entertainment, so what we've done is we've done a condensed version of everything. Running from San Francisco to New York will last about an hour.

Considering the size of the world, I never expected 60fps, 30 seems fine.
