I would like to see a return to Vice City or a new City. If they do a new city, maybe one based on Chicago. What are your thoughts?

Vice City wouldn't just feel right in present time.. It was the whole 80s vibe that made the game special inlove.gif

I hope the next one is either a new city or San Fierro, or the whole San Andreas. smile.gif

I've answered this question (and similar questions) so many times, and I don't have any intention on doing it again.

Here are my answers:

Forgive me for answering a question with a question, but why is it necessary to ask about GTA 6 when GTA 5 is pending release?

I hope by GTA 9 we will see ALL of the U.S. put into one gigantic map.

GTA 9 would probably be released in 2032 the way GTAs go. That's not even counting another trilogy in between.

-Vice City
-Washington D.C
-London
-Texas with 3 cities representing Houston, Dallas, San Antonio/Austin combined.

Any of these would satisfy me.

Vice city, every single time.

I loved the old VC, but I don't know if it's because of the city, or the 80's vibe. I'm pretty sure I'd still love a remade VC in present day.

I would definitely want to see Vice City again, that's basically guaranteed since so far they have just been recreating locations from older GTA's, but at the same time I would like to see them try their hand at something new as well, no matter where it may be. I think they can save that for GTA VII though, because it would just be so awesome to go back to Vice City.

I'd really love to see Las Venturas and its surrounding area in the late 1960s.

Vice City but only if it returns into the 1980's or maybe 1970's if not then San Fierro or Las Venturas.

I'd really like to see a future GTA back in London.

That or a new city all together. I'm always toying with the idea of seeing GTA:Bristol, but that is very far fetched unfortunately. Oh well, least I can make a concept thread out of that idea perhaps or just keep it as a fun idea/dream. tounge.gif

I do very much want to return to VC, but I feel like I'd want more of VC than what a first game on a new gen can provide. i think I'd like Chicago or London first, and then Florida (incl. VC) afetr that.

If Rockstar plan on creating a new city then I would like one more visit to Vice City, even if they didn't recreate it, I just want to see it one more time before we move on to any new city they may create.

The big problem with a return to Vice City is that real world Miami's culture is dead in every era other than the 80's. But if they go back to the 80's it will seem like just a repeat of something they've done twice before.

Chicago doesn't have anything that NYC doesn't have. If they do Vice City, it has to be in the 80s, and it'd be cool if you could travel to Havana too. It could be time to give the rest of the world some love too though. London would be nice; as long as one of the protagonists is not British, because I wouldn't be able to deal with the accents all the time lol. Las Vegas would be really cool. If they did San Francisco, they should have a protagonist from china town.

Vice City, Los Santos is getting it's turn now, and Liberty City got it's turn last game, now it's time to go back to Vice City, if not then a new city that we've never seen before, maybe a city based off of Chicago. Maybe Carcer City, even though Manhunt took place there, a Grand Theft Auto never has been there yet.

I suppose I could see it being Vice City or Las Venturas very easily. I especially think rockstar could knock las venturas out of the park. I could imagine them doing some sort of twin city type of thing as well.

This may sound unrealistic but I always wonder if rockstar would ever reuse their assets and start weaving maps together, adding cities from time to time. They have "casually expressed" interest in weaving multiple cities into one game. I personally would love for them to finish GTA V, create GTA VI with a map of similar and impressive size including another city or two (LV or SF or both or something) and keep the gta V map in that game as well.

Or maybe like in gtasa where you flew out into the ocean and they sorta "warped" you into LC. What if GTA VI is in VIce city, but you fly out into the ocean (going west) and it warps you into Las Venturas' airspace. or even to Los Santos' or LC's airspace left in the game. Or both, west for LS and east for LC. yeah ambitious and maybe unrealistic to suggest.

Food for thought though I suppose.

That's basically how I feel about it too, part of the reason VC was as "magical" as it was in VC/VCS was because of the era it was in and the fact that the 3D era games were basically parodies on American Culture/Movies, which the current games aren't. Miami today isn't really different then LA or NYC (moreso LA I guess) as far as the culture which IMHO wouldn't work as a "Vice City" game.

Or like in the Godfather II game where you could go between NYC, Miami & Cuba by going to the airport and taking a plane ride (taking as in passenger not stealing l0l). So basically if you wanted to go to other cities you would have to physically buy a ticket and be a passenger on the plane (so that the game could load the map of VC or LS or LC or wherever), but if you just steal a plane and fly it you would go nowhere but infinite ocean.

Personally two areas I would like to see would either be Hawaii or Texas.

-- Hawaii has some of the features of Vice City while being a natural island having many things to play off of (tourists vs locals, drugs, crime, richest rich & poorest poor, etc) as well as everything from Beaches to Snowcapped Mountains to Active Volcanoes. In real life there are no bridges between the islands (that I know of anyway) but a few could be created in the game combined with Ferries between the islands too.

-- Texas has the possibility to be a rather epic area if you include part of Northern Mexico as well. Dallas, Austin, San Antonio down to Laredo & then over to El Paso (including some Mexican stuff on the other side of the border) as the main big map with Houston & Galveston down to Corpus Christi as sort of an island. Think of the main part as like Los Santos with the island part as Vice City tacked onto it, this would be more to give it the feel of mainland Texas is sort of the "Serious area" whereas the island strip would be the "party area", they don't have to be separated by a huge ocean just like the same amount that the island in IV are separated by. The storylines of the game could range from smuggling stuff (people/drugs/guns) out of & into Mexico, to crazy rednecks that still think Texas should be it's own country, to kidnapping rich partying college kids, to the usual GTA missions. There are no real casinos in Texas (that I've been able to find info on anyway) but there is in Mexico so some of the Mexico missions could relate to Los Venturas type of missions. Maybe at the beginning of the game all the boarder crossings will be closed & Mexico will be locked off unless you sneak across the border without being caught, later in the game you'll be able to freely pass however eventually (within the story mode) you may get 'flagged' because of your criminal activities so you won't be able to cross again unless you sneak across the border. IDK I just think it could work, especially with the trend of R* making the HD era games more realistic instead of a parody.

A GTA version of Chicago would be alright I think. They could name it "Carcer City" and add some dilapidated areas and urban decay that you wouldn't find in Liberty City. You are right though, New York and Chicago don't look entirely different in terms of skyscrapers.

Regrading London, they could do it though I don't think a modern-day version would be the best choice. Maybe they should repeat London 1969/1961 but do it in full 3D. Have a 60s/70s setting with gangster themes I say.
