What is that supposed to mean? sh*tty damage?

I really hope you're not referring to the old games that had bad damage due to their time, are you?

means almost no damage cause Ferarri and all these luxury brands dont sell licenses without being sure that Devs wont let players destroy their cars or customize them too much

Criterion will f*ck this one up beautifully.

Criterion is not developing it ...

It's Ghost Games.

Thank f*ck, a glimmer of hope.

That might explain why the damage is so sh*tty on Forza aswell then.

I think only some car companies like ferrari stop game developers from showing damage as the bugatti in grid2 takes a sh*t load of damage.

Where have you been since 1997? Since NFS 2 they've been running on a annual release schedule with like one exception. Not turning into COD or anything, and thankfully they're making "it in house" once again.

Actually, you can say CoD copied off of NFS with the annual release, or that NFS was the first CoD.

Dunno the last few in house NFS games havenít exactly been great, I point you to Undercover and The Run. (Okay Iíll admit The Run wasnít to bad it just needed some polish here and there.)

Though that's just my opinion. Though I do have some faith based on the fact that they dished out the money to get Ferrari that this game may have a pretty good budget.

I thought The Run was pretty good.

Undercover was terrible though, and all of Criterions racing games have the same...feel? Gets boring after a bit, I love MW2012, but I think it's good they aren't touching NFS again. But anyho, my point was that they've always had yearly releases with an exception or two, so I don't understand people saying "it's turning into COD" since it doesn't make a ton of sense.

Definantly getting the new one, there isn't a NFS I don't own on PC honestly.

I'm just excited that a new NFS is on the way! I don't really care about customization because I keep my cars plain. I wish the best of luck to those who want it back though, hopefully it's bigger than the scale on MW.

NFS MW (2012) was a pain...

boring as f*ck. no story, small scale, only few content, only few variety,

I still hope for a new MC from R*

You know what I hate about that game? HEAT INCREASED in a huge f*cking rectangle that is perfectly placed right on your screen so you can't see the road, if you're going to do that sh*t at least make it transparent.

Yeah the run wasn't to bad but it still wasn't as good as it could have been IMO.

And yeah I can see where you're coming from, Critirion's NFS's felt pretty much the same in terms of gameplay, the core of the driving remained realitiviely unchanged.

I'm hoping for less Drifty Burnout physics on this one, still arcady but I shouldn't feel like I'm on ice, I went to play some MW2012 after playing some of Carbon and I have to tell you, it was a hard transition. Though it did say in association the Criterion games. (Though that could be EA's way of trying to capitalize on the general positive response to HP2010 and MW2012 or they helped early on who knows.)

Another thing I hope they bring back is Manual Transmissions, mainly because I like the option, granted in most arcade racers I tend not to use it but if it's like older NFS I'd like the option back as they were really the only Arcade games I used a Manual in (Usually only use them in Sims), in something like Critirion NFS, and MCLA I usually skip the option.

And I agree with the CoD thing, NFS has been doing annual released for awhile, usually successfully making the games feel diffrent, yeah some of them aren't as good as others but they still IMO stay pretty solid, and usually are the only time I support EA.

Anyhow I can't wait to see what they bring to E3 to show off.

Does anyone hope there's seasonal weather? Remember in NFS: Porsche Unleashed, there was a snowy track or something like that.

Hopefully we get weather options icon14.gif

I doubt it. This game looks like it's set in a California like setting. Hopefully there will be mountains again. If we can drive into the mountains, there better be a bunch of snowy roads, not just one.
One thing I disliked about Hot Pursuit was that every road had it's own unique environment. One road was the desert, the other was a forest, etc. And they all felt about 4 miles long each. I want the roads in this game to blend in with each other and they should all have different lengths.

Yeah, I hope that it blends together since it's said to be open world, I have some hope it will. Looks to be country side is nice anyways, but if it blended more seemlessly than HP2010 did I'd be estatic.

I also hope there are a few snowy roads out there if there's some good sized mountains, could make for some intresting moments, on an ice road hitting 200MPH+ in a Koeinsegg Agera R.

I know it's hard to predict yet, but an NFS title for Next gen might have only few differences compared to the latest PS3 releases.
NFS titles from 2006 onwards seemed to have no differences at all.

Are you on crack?

People mainly seem to "complain" about the mixing it up too much, which I like actually, keeps the franchise fresh IMO.

I'm honestly not sure if you are serious or what, have you ever even actually played a NFS game?

Talk about it.

Since 2006 we've had several Changes. We've had massive shifts back and forth from Street Racing (Carbon, HP2010, MW2012, The Run) to GT track stuff, both sim (Shift) and Arcade (Pro Street) like. And even in the Street racing ones we've had somewhat tame Arcadey like Carbon and The Run to full on Drifty allmost Burn out like with the Criterion games. Then you have Undercover...which is just there, with a Story focus same with the run. (Really hope they forgo a story again)

As for where Rivals will fall...somewhere between HP2010 and MW2012 with some Run maybe depending on how they handle the Physics, should be intresting.

That said I really like the change as well, some of it is hit and miss IMO, but it keeps it from geting stale like most yearly releases.

Your favourite? Really? I suggest you to try Dirt2, F1 2012, GT or Forza. Those are in my opinion waaaaaaaay better then NFS smile.gif
