[WIP|CON|VC] Hachura/Wrecked Car Revival
Bringing It Back From The Scrap Heaps...

I am in the process of finishing an old incomplete mod of which I was Resurrecting the Hachura/Burnt Out Wrecked Car, below is an image illustrating what vehicle I am talking about if you are not sure, the top image is the Map Object you see placed around Vice, LC and Perhaps also SA which appears to be (or Heavily Resemble) the Hachura which was (or was believed to be) an early Beta of the Idaho from GTA III.
user posted image
The Image above of this car is the only one ever released that depicted it with that front, all the earliest In Game pictures and footage show what appears to be the same vehicle but with a different front end better resembling the final Idaho with other minor changes, an upside of these early shots is it gives me an idea of what the back looks like which is well, an Idaho.
user posted imageuser posted image
My Goal for this project is not to restore the vehicle to its GTA III Beta state but to take what R* left and make it a new vehicle in its own right with a personality of its own, I am going to make it for Vice City and as such give the Body Vice City Textures not Plain III Beta or Regular III, It is more like I am aiming for what the car would look like if it was made for Vice City to begin with, so the front of the vehicle has its own unique styling as it is which leaves me with the dilemma of the rear, do I make it follow the styling of the images above, or do it similar to the above images but with a more unique less Idaho look to it.
Possibly I might put the rear License Plate on the boot where the Diamond is instead of the Bumper as on the Burnt Out Scenery the bumper does not have the indent for the license plate... decisions, decisions...

Well Anyway here is the current progress showing what I started with and what I currently have.

user posted imageuser posted image
I stripped all the parts off the car as it was one large clump and am slowly pounding out the dents and filling in the gaps left incomplete, I chose one side of the car which I deemed to be the correct side and have only worked on that and then used the symmetry modifier to fill in the other side as one side of the vehicle was slightly more crushed and looked wrong compared to the other, it may not look like it in the pictures but I have almost completed the whole front third of the vehicle, that is to say that the engine is now there, those front wings detach and I have filled in the gaps correctly so when they detach the engine is still blocked in and you cant see into the engine and out the other side of the car, all that needs doing is the front bumper (And Damage Parts).
I really only need to decide on a design for the rear and make that then all that will be left is the interior and making a new roof or fixing the old one, apart from that everything has so far been remodeled and re-textured. Also the whole car needs smoothing, I don't mean the Poly Smoothing, I mean the Lighting on it needs smoothing with all the welding and redone polys there is dark spots all over as you can see above so please don't pick me up on those.

I hope to complete this project this time

Thanks to all those for showing an Interest, I have fitted out the interior of the vehicle borrowing the steering wheel and center console from the Idaho, now it is time to texture the interior.

I'm still not too sure on what I will do with the tailights on the rear, but will experiment with it a little further.

I've always wondered about this car. I have a mod that I found where a guy took the Idaho and threw on that front onto it, but to have you completely re-do it is just as good.

Well the Body Shell is not the same as the Idaho, it looks the same but is modeled differently, more poly in some places less in others so I thought a proper rebuild of the original shell was best.

Man this would be like a good bonus car for a mod or something.

What mod would you be talking about???

Ontopic:

Cool, I have no idea why, but it reminds me Driver much. Like a mix between PSX Miami car (not talking about PC Skylark) and San Francisco car (I think it was Fairlane in both versions) smile.gif

I was hoping to be posting my first In Game test shot... but I have spent several hours trying to get it in game, exporting from 3 different scripts from 3 different programs over 2 OS's and every time I get the error when the DFF is loaded in game, I cant seem to figure out why this keeps happening, I have even tried exporting it as an SA DFF and loading it from MVL, but still gets the same error, but as always I'll keep pressing on and find a way.

(error C0000005)
(address 00579aee)

So here is a 3DS Max Render showing the Interior Complete and Textured along with the Body, I am still working on the Bumpers and deciding on what to do with the Rear Lights.

It seems like nearly all my vehicles are Bonus or addon Cars for mods..... Nothing has ever really been made to be a proper replacement for anything, usually just something special for a mod, or sometimes a request. As long as permission is seeked first I am always more than happy to share.
Vice Premier, Bikle '86, '02 Greenwood, '02 Picador, Civilian LVPD, III & VC & SA Belmont's/Cut Stretch, Impaler, Oceanic Stretch, Official Beta Blista Compact, Romero Ute, Regal, Civilian Hotrings, and possibly some more I forgot.

I'll have to fire up Driver and get a look at some of the vehicle again, they might be some inspiration for more future creations, it is good to see that some people are still interested in mods for Vice

That crash seems to be somehow related to suspension. Perhaps dummys are a bit wrong?

Thanks for your insight, perhaps I'll import another vehicle into 3DS and then replace all the existing dummys with new ones.

Edit: I replaced all the dummys with the admiral ones and now it loads, but due to the export script you are not going to see much.

Edit: Here we are all textured up.

Update: I have done a little more work to the vehicle, Carcols are now running, The Windscreen is added and also the Front Bumper has been finished.
I modified the Front Bumper Slightly, It had two big prongs sticking out of it (As you can see in the OP) which looked, well, terrible, so I removed them, the Front for some reason reminds me of the Yardie Lobo, but there is still work to do, Its really only the Roof, Rear and Damage Parts.

Like a Yardie Lobo version to replace the Voodoo? Complete with Zebra print interior, chain-link steering wheel, wire wheels, and hydraulic pumps in the trunk?

Hey, that's a nice idea! There should be a regular unmodified version, and a special one that replaces the Voodoo (it's the only car with hydros in VC).

I have taken your styling suggestions and made 4 different rough photoshops of a rear end, again I dont want to completely copy the Chevelle but will base a similar design on it.

user posted image
The Top 2 Styles have no Indent for a number plate it just sits flush with the back of the vehicle, the left one has both lights full size and the right one has the inner lights slightly smaller.
The Bottom 2 Styles have an Indent for the number plate and again the same thing with the lights as above, Personally I am a bit torn between them all, the textures for the Lights might change a little in the final to better resemble the Chevelle or I might leave it as they are if people like it as it is.

Perhaps I might make a version for San Andreas, I'll see how I feel with the finished product.

I was thinking that perhaps alongside the regular version, a Rusted Broken Beater Model, A Then maybe a More Tuned Model with the Cuban Hermes Exhaust, Diablo Stallion Engine, Hydraulics, with some other nice things, But that version would be for Maxo's Vehicle Loader only as it will allow me to add a few other special things like the MVL Tuning Parts Feature which should allow me to make it spawn with several different interiors, roofs, wheels and other body parts, all they will all be done randomly and give a lot of different design combinations.

Edit: Any Thoughts about the name??
Keep it Hachura or come up with something new.

Edit: Well here is one of these anyway.

I'm offering a Beta Version for testing out if anyone is interested, it will be for Maxo's Vehicle Loader (Vice City), but if you wish for it to be in the regular game you can extract the files.
(No Damage Parts and other bits are not final)

PM me for Download.

Style 1 or 3 looks best here.

edit: Also yeah, keep the name as Hachura, sort of its legacy name, no need to change it. tounge.gif

Rear-end: I'll take number 3 rear-end. Indent makes it more detailed.

Name: Keep the car's name as Hachura. Makes it even more R*-style!

Honestly, I always wanted Idaho to look like this.

Also, I like your car variants idea very much. A beater? A customized rodded version? Sounds really awesome!

Luckily for all you lot that Style 3 was the only one I actually made yesterday for IG, hopefully I'll get the Damage Parts made today or the Roof, personally I am thinking about a Hardtop only version for Direct Replacement into Vice City (Perhaps with the roof as an Extra) and then in the MVL Version I'll mix it up with different variants.

That could be a MVL feature, the game has some vehicles hardcoded to act as convertibles only when no extras are attached. At least in SA case, it applies to Stallion and Comet (it has no extras though, did they plan to add hardtop to it?) - I'm sure VC has something like this too.

Cops don't use 2-door coupe cars. They are not fulfilling their purpose fully, as they have no seats for the suspects. tounge.gif Maybe 2-doors are more suitable for high-speed chases (they're lighter and smaller than sedans), but if the suspect is caught, how would you transport him/her to the police department? colgate.gif
