Jack Bauer is back! 24 was my favorite show on TV, I was disappointed when it got canceled. I guess FOX realized the mistake and picked it back up again.
heres a link.

I've never seen the show but I looks awesome, I'll have to try to watch the first 8 seasons before it starts up again.

Also, shouldn't this topic have been put in the TV/Movies section of off topic?

Try Netflix it has em all. Its a bada$$ show that takes place in LA (except the last season) IDK where this belongs, I just got excited and posted it.

What?  How can I not have heard this?  Guess I'll have to watch the last couple seasons again.

EDIT: Changed the title to make it a bit easier to find.

I hadn't heard either, but now I'm so hyped!

Got the complete box set so I guess I'll binge watch them. It's been a while, so I'd probably be confused when watching the new episode when it airs.

Definitely can't wait. Sounds like the story won't drag unnecessarily too. 12 episodes instead of 24 means they can skip some scenes that may make an episode drag. They can keep it tight.

Also exciting is that Kiefer still thinks a movie is possible. May depend on the success of the 12 episodes.

I heard that these 12 eps were to replace the movies, they were gonna do a trilogy but went for this. But yeah a movie afterwards would be cool. It will take a few years due to the same reasons as before, scheduling and creative reasons, by then Kiefer may be too old.

If jack Bauer is not dead at the end of this, then a movie will happen.

If he were to die I'd like to see a 24 movie regardless but with different people, however this idea could fail badly like scrubs series 9. I always wanted to see a movie about operation nightfall, 2 years before season 1 is set but they would need to overhaul the cast entirely and Dennis Hopper (who played Victor Drazen) being dad further complicates things on that angle.

Constant teasers during the Super Bowl. I got giddy when Jack and Chloe appeared on screen.

I always found this show to be a contrived piece of sh*t, the lame plot twists are worse than some of M Night Shyamalan ones .

Please elaborate more.  A three word sentence is considered spam.

If you're asking what the video is, it's a TV spot they aired during the Super Bowl for the new season.

The teaser is so f*cking awesome! I've just finished season two (during my binge). Getting so excited now, maybe a little too excited.

I've started watching the last two seasons, starting with Redemption. I love Netflix.

I think in the 90s, 24 would have been super popular. It was popular in the time it aired, but I think because of it being a show where it was 'America vs terrorists', and the US government especially the president weren't the most popular, it was a time when the concept was cheesy. I think in the 90s, and especially the 80s, people were a little more accepting of America being the clear cut good guys and terrorists being pure evil.

I've started watching 24 again too, darthYENIK. My grandmother has them all on DVD so I just borrowed the lot. I'm on 2pm - 3pm on season two right now. My god, I forgot how good 24 really is. Hopefully will have watched through all eight seasons before this new one is released on TV. I want Netflix to premiere the show too, but that probably won't happen.

E: Just checked Google and the new season's being filmed this month and premieres (in the UK) in May.

Season 1 was originally 13 episodes, got extended to 24. not saying it will happen here, it won't just an interesting little fact.

I wonder how they would have dealt with the drazens originally then, cos episode 13 was jsut ira gaines getting killed.

Oh come on that isn't a spoiler he is played by Michael Massee.

I think this will be the conclusion to the story or at least jack Bauer's story. They can always come back with a  different main character if need be.

God damnit! I hate it when discs stop working and all of a sudden skip 10-20 minutes. I was right in the middle of the episode after the one I mentioned in my previous post when it screwed up. No internet means no Netflix too! Rahhhh! This is totally screwing up my binge.

That sucks.  24 is the best show to binge watch.  I didn't start watching until the 6th season or so, but I bought the first season DVDs after watching S6:01, and ripped through them in a marathon.  I like the rest of the series, but that first season is mind blowing.

All I know is seeing the promo during the Super Bowl and at first I was like 'wtf is Kiefer Sutherland doing?!' .. then my pops and brother in law was like, 'Wtf is this?', I was like 'THATS 24 BITCHES.. ITS BACK!'

I can only hope the disc will work on my 360 seen as though it doesn't on my PS3.

Been two weeks now, a double post won't hurt.

Just ordered the complete season 1-8 + redemption box set from Amazon to be ordered tomorrow! I've had enough of borrowing the seasons one by one and I'd rather have all of the episodes at home! It's certainly worth it for £55. I just had to get the one day delivery offer that the seller had going too, it's 24 after all.

I get more excited every day!!!

Did I make a comment in this thread remarking as to why this series still exists? If not, consider this post that comment.

I don't get it, how long can you milk a series before it becomes a stale parody of itself?
