OK. So last year I got married on September 16. Our first wedding anniversary will therefore be this coming September 16... obviously this isn't the kind of thing that goes without celebration.

On top of this, my wife and I are moving to the UK next year. The first anniversary gift is supposed to be "paper" traditionally. So our plan was that I'll book our flights without telling her and exchange our tickets on September 16. I'm very excited about this. But this means we'll probably take a short trip to Melbourne for a few nights (or somewhere nice). But what am I meant to do? I can't just be all romantic and be exchanging flight tickets and roses and all that crap... then wake up the next morning and be like "Alrighty, home time nice knowing ya, gonna lock myself away and play GTA V for the rest of the week!"

September 16 is a Monday. So I'm thinking we could go away for the weekend (Friday to Monday) then fly home Tuesday. But... this still seems a bit selfish I'll admit... and she pointed it out too saying "Great you'll just wake up and want to rush home to play GTA..."

sad.gif sad.gif

What would you do if you were in my shoes? Get a divorce? lol.

First of all, congrats on the wedding.

The only solution I can think of is if you celebrate a few days earlier. I mean, what is an anniversary? It's special. Anniversaries are only around since calendars were invented! tounge.gif The reality is that you wont be able to concentrate on your wife when you know GTA is out. If you celebrate a few days earlier you can assure that you'll give her all the love and attention she wants/needs. It's a compromise but sure that's what marriage is all about. If you can afford it, you can go above and beyond to give her the most awesome pressie but book your trip or holiday before the 17th so she can't complain wink.gif

Other option is to stick it in your head that GTA comes out September 20th and try cope the best you can.

Exactly, treat her like a queen for 364 days of the year & ignore her on your anniversary. That's what I'm going to do when I trick someone into marrying me.

Exactly.

If it was me my perfect wedding anniversary with my future guy would consist of playing GTA V together on release!!

But yeah I don't think many women are obsessed with GTA like me so you probably should spend the time with her and sadly...wait to play GTA V.

Oh.My. f*ckING GOD!

You ARE all [ most of you ] idiots! I was just pissing you off with my last comment and hated the idea of calling others names.

Nope, idiots. If GTA is just a game, isnít his wife just a human? Is not your advice just words?

Stop saying "Women over games" or "f*ck your wife and buy GTA later after that". What are you, cave men? Didnít have a wedding with his wife? Did not he have sex with his wife?

Having sex = Done
Playing GTA V= Not done

Since sex is your primary goal in your useless life, does not that fix your raging boner and let the man have his fun?

And last but not least, if he said his wife wants something, anything. Let us say it is a dress, an expensive one. After buying the dress, he would not have any money for GTA V.

What would your answer be? I know most of you will lie to me but, I know deep down, you will say " Buy it for the lady, GTA V is just a game. " "Work extra hours and buy both. "

WHY should he work extra hours or buy a useless piece of expensive fabric over a fun, deep game that is also cheap? Because it is for her and she is the most important, right?

Idiots. Repeating what they hear on TV and thinking they are right.

So like goh is saying... Lets see your choices for Sept 17.

A. TONS of Sex with your loving wife, and have a living emotional connection spending some nice time together.

B. Play a game in your unpacked house while your wife goes to a hotel crying.

Wow this is such a tough decision when you value your partner for life against a $60 game....

One of them hasn't had 500,000 people having wet dreams of them at night. If only your wife saw this icon13.gif

Haha, thanks goh13! It's strange but what you say is mostly true. To be honest, when sex is so available to you it actually gets a bit "old" after 5 years or so... not that I don't enjoy it at all but it's not the first thing on my mind like most people here it seems. Vaginas are pretty disgusting things actually. I think I'd rather suck a cock than lick another vagina. Have any of you put your mouth on one of those things?

Anyway. Regarding sex in general. As they say, you always want what you can't have. So it's pretty obvious here who gets it and who doesn't. But I think the moral of what some people are trying to get at is to show her attention and appreciation, and make her feel special, whatever way that is. Obviously I'll do all that above and beyond my visit to buy GTA V. But my mind will definitely wander if come September 17, I wake up and I'm sitting around in cafes being fancy when I know you're all having quad bike races down Mt Chiliad and stuff sad.gif

Your right, you have it for 5 years and wanting GTA-V for about the same. I'm sure you do ok for her and dammit you deserve your copy of GTA! I will personally buy you a copy, soak it in Gold, fly to the U.K., hand it to you, meet your wife to judge validity of all these comments, and leave. biggrin.gif
and do i get no mention? ;(

Instead of bonding, leave each other for a while. Give her a ticket with one of her friends or send her to those fancy spa.

Once she comes back a week or two later, I bet she will be missing you. If not this year, maybe later. It is not always good to shower someone with gifts. Sometimes, just sometimes, you have to leave them without gifts and only the gifts giver. Later, the will appricate the things you did and will do for them.

I am 16 but, I really do not give a f*ck about sex. We are 7B right now. No need for extra humans in this world. I also do not care about what others think. Might be bad for my wife. Better stay alone than ruin lives to stay "happy". If you call kids happiness anyway tounge.gif

Do not forget that I might be saying the wrong thing. I never really understood women. A man will be happy with the above advice, I will give you that.

It's not about the sex. I could not care less about your sex life OP. It just seems like the right thing to do. It would make more sense if this was some random trip, but it isn't. This is you and you wife's anniversary. That means something, especially to her. It's just a few days, I'm sure you can wait. Your mind may wander, but at least you'll be getting hyped and the wait will be worth it.

Serious question, How do you plan on organizing a relocation half way across the world when you can't even figure out when to play a game.

I hope your wife doesn't see this post...

GTA V will be here, it's just a game. It ain't going anywhere so don't worry. Focus on your wife, she is one of the most important things in your life (or should be) and if you don't treat her well then she will leave you and potentially f*ck up your life. I don't know how old you are or if you have kids together or anything like that...

Anyway, this is a GTA Forum. We're not here to discuss your marriage. You decide what's more important.

Anniversary is once a year, GTA V will be there 365 days a year. I know how it is to know a game you've been wanting is released and you can't play it for a couple days, but it doesn't equal the douchebaggery of isolating yourself on a special day like that. Besides that, it WON'T be fun in Melbourne when you got her all mad or even a little irritated. I don't know your wife but I know enough to say that when you create a nice ambiance you'll have a lot of fun, pretty much a given for all women. But on the other hand, picking V up and playing it for an hour or so shouldn't be a problem, but that might have you craving it even more for the next couple days lol.
In a nutshell: it's either 3 days of thinking about V - couple days of fun with your wife - GTA V or 3 days of a great game - welcome to hell - avoiding V as it would probably make her even more mad. First one seems better to me smile.gif

When this game comes out I will NOT see my missus any more or any less often.

I will see her the exact same amount of time a day, but instead of being on the internet replying to threads, Ill be play GTA instead.
My life will not change because of a damn game.
I will just play said game when I have free time.

Fake your death then go buy GtaV. Buy a safe house along with provisions. Food, Water, Alchol, Porn and dont forget a TV and console. Play Gta for a few weeks while at same time growing an enormous wild bushy beard. Then return to your loved one and say some crap like you were abducted by aliens or something. Live happily ever after. smile.gif
