I need to buy a new headset. I play on pc and have looked at the tb x12 and z11. What is better? Does anyone recommend anything else from $20-50?

Note that the Z11 uses a 4-pole connection meaning the left, right audio and mic are on 1 single plug, the same that you would find on ear buds that come with a iPhone. You would have to get a splitter to use it on the PC.
The X12 uses standard 3.5mm plugs, 1 for the audio and 1 for the mic.

As for which is better here's what I do. Simply search for the product name and add the word 'review' to it. Turtle Beach X12 review for example. Read reviews on places like Newegg and Amazon and also try to find some on Youtube and read some of the comments.

I am now looking at plantronics 780s. I wanted to know if anyone uses any of these headphones.

I've had my x12's for about a year I think, maybe.
I love them.
Great sound and bass.
Mic doesn't suck either.

I think that was one of the ones I was thinking of getting until I found the CoolerMaster CM Sirus which I would have suggested but it's well out of your price range.

I received my headphones today. They are really amazing. I am satisfied with them. Music sounds really good and the 7.1 surround sound feature sounds amazing. The bass sounded really good. I tested battlefield 3 and that sounded crystal clear. The explosions were amazing, you can hear where planes are coming from and the atmosphere sounds so awesome. These sound way better than my turtlebeach x11's.

Overall, for under $60 these are amazing headphones. I recommend them to anyone who likes to PC game and listen to music.

Make sure in BF3 you set the in-game audio setting to Home Cinema. And of course the on the headset you turn on the 7.1 audio.
