Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 also known in Japan and South Korea as Winning Eleven 2014 and Pro Evo Soccer 2014 Kick Off in UK is an upcoming association football video game and the latest edition of the Pro Evolution Soccer series, developed and published by Konami. The game was officially announced by Konami on March 10, 2013. The game will feature a modified version of the new Fox Engine. For the first time, the game will feature and exclusive license for the AFC Champions League.

PES 14 fox engine trailer (sorry If I posted the wrong link, I don't know Spanish)

Creative Producer talks about the new features

I gave up on PES a long time ago. This does look better but not interesting at all tbh.

I hope Konami retake the throne of best football game, those days of PES6 are long gone sad.gif but this engine is exactly what PES needs. Their animations on this gen have been robotic even with all the improvements they still looked stiff confused.gif

Plus it has the best things over FIFA, a better career mode, editing, and THE CHAMPIONS!!! DUNAH, DUNAH, DUNAH, DUNAH. THESE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!

I've been so unstatisfied as a massive football gamer the past 2 years, both PES 12 and 13 were dissapointments (although 13 was decent) and same with Fifa 12 and 13, with 13 being pretty much exactly the same.

I really do hope this year is different but I won't be getting my hopes up this time, as there are so many good games coming out, if both are terrible then I won't bother getting any and would be quite happy not doing so. It just depresses me that my favourite sport can't make a good game of it like 2k do with basketball, Konami use to on the PS2 days but have failed big time with next gen.

I hope they improve Defensive AI in the PES 14. Player switching, player positioning, defenders not intercepting passes when they could/should, defenders not reacting to loose balls, defenders inexplicably moving on the wrong direction, defenders not challenging for crosses, etc are some of the other glitched features which needs some fixing and improvement.

Get them fixed, Konami.

This actually looks really good, and I'm strongly leaning towards purchasing PES this year. I've been a fifa player forever, and while I do think fifa13 is a good game, namely its gameplay, it's the menus and loading times that drive me crazy and make me not want to play the game anymore.

No it doesn't, Option Files ftw. Plus it has the important ones. Champions League, Copa Libertadores, and now the AFC.Champions League.

i made the mistake of buying fifa 13 before pes 2013 this year. PES is so much better in a lot of ways. Looking forward to 2014 on the ps4 hopefully people will start to realise that fifa is f*cking god awful.

oh and if konami introduce a "clubs" mode ill love them forever

Lol, why did they use Beethoven's song?

It's okay but um... sorry but the players still move like sh*t, they move like robots.

EDIT: Is this confirmed for PS4/One?

I don't really keep up to date with this stuff and I would like to ask a simple question. PC gamer's are getting this Fox engine correct? Because us PC gamer's ain't getting the Ignite engine for the PC which is disappointing to say the least really in FIFA 14.

I'll be getting FIFA 14. icon14.gif

Because, the only thing that the PC version of FIFA 14 does not have is the next-gen graphics. Other than that you get the same career mode as the consoles, AI improvements, other improvements, Ultimate Team etc.

So the graphics will be like FIFA 13 but the game will be different so not much of a loss for us really.

Sorry Andy but the graphics look like crap, I won't be getting this game anyway, the stadiums are better than FIFA though but other than that, it's terrible. The graphics look much worse than FIFA 09 and PES 10, this look like a slightly upgraded PES 08. Hopefully they'll improve it, you can't really give a full opinion now judging by a pre-release screen.

iNero: Crysis 3 is a current-gen game and it has next-gen like graphics:

But anyway, those are console graphics, PC graphics will obviously be a masterpiece.
Still they remind me albeit of FIFA 13

I don't hate PES, I started the topic because there wasn't one about PES 14, I just think they are not that good and kinda overrated but this is all IMO of course, maybe because I have been playing FIFA for nearly all my life so I can't really adjust to PES. confused.gif

Untill they fix online they have no chance of competting with Fifa, even offline they make it worse by removing such favourite modes like league mode last year. I mean why not add modes/things on rather then take them away? Each year the demos are promising and then they release a scripted game with plenty of AI boosting and cheating and online is filled with everyone playing Barcelona or Real Madrid while abusing players with the speed merchant card like Ronaldo and Messi.

I'm surprised they're apparently not releasing a PS2 version. That's gonna cost them a huge amount of sales.

Having bought both pes and fifa every year since 1996 i had to add to this thread.

First things first PES2014 is looking stunning, the best looking football game so far and the animations of the players is spot on.

The stadiums look immense and full of life and this has been picked up in a few previews. One said " If you are getting hammered at home with 10 mins to go the crowd will start to leave and head home leaving a half empty stadium" but if you are battling for a goal the crowd will raise the volume and try to raise the morale of the players. This seems like a brilliant feature and one that ive wanted in a football game for a long time.

Ive read a few previews now and everyone is saying the weight of the players feel spot on. Playing with Dante he will feel heavy and strong, but playing with robben he feels light and agile with quicker turning. This is one thing i hate in fifa every player feels the same.

There has been talk of 11 vs 11 being planned for this new version. I for one can say if pro evo gets a clubs mode fifa will not get anywhere near my xbox.

Fifa14 looks exactly like fifa 10,11,12 and 13. and no doubt will play the same. i bought fifa13 purely for career and clubs modes but seeing as they are broken and have more bugs than david attenboroughs arse crack it was a useless purchase.

Fifa clubs is a great idea which Ea have got very wrong, games are overrun by midget players who seem to be unstoppable even in the air against anyone. Also its ruined by 12 year old kids playing as GK and running up front thinking its cool. And if you go more than 2-0 up in a clubs game the other team back out. Not to mention the sh*te servers that are laggy as fook.

It seems like fifa is made for kids these days its way to easy on legendary im smashing teams 4, 5-0 all the time.

PES on the other hand is so damn hard but that makes it so rewarding when you grind out a 1-0 win on superstar level. When you finally grasp what konami are trying to achieve its a beautiful game as close to football as you can get.

Yes it dosent have licences but you can literally edit everything and tbh thats part of the reason i love it.

Having all the teams that fifa has is great in career it adds to realism of proper promotions/relegations, but online people only use 6 teams MAN UTD, MAN CITY, CHELSEA, REAL, BARCA and BAYERN thats it so licensing isnt a big deal.

All in all i cant wait for the new PES it seems they are trying to change unlike ea who release the same game with updated stats every year.

I think ea have got the fanbase nailed down anyone from 12 to 18yo will love it, but i think the hardcore football fan appreciate what konami are doing. PES has always been and still is the best football game around

What I don't understand is why PES themselves don't leak a file with the correct names as mod on the internet themselves.

It's not that hard to sort.
