If you want the game so realistic, BUY A SIMULATOR

What is this car made of? Paper? Or the other car was crashing into it with over 250 km/h..

On the other hand it would be too realistic.. so, nope. I prefer the "normal" damage which was already presented in IV.

I've seen the whole video of this gif and it would just be awesome. But if this was used there should be a really realistic handling of the vehicles. Everybody would pay more caution to the driving and driver skills would be more important.

I remember seeing this engine 2 years ago I think, it was pretty interesting.

But having this same destruction in GTA V is a big no, it is cool that there's road destruction in GTA V though.
I also think they stick with the GTA IV car destruction, but we'll see wink.gif

This is a soft body physics simulator made by BeamNG with CryEngine 3, they plan on releasing a game with it.

As for GTA, it doesn't work. Since it's being released on those old console things, there's no way they can handle such a large amount of processing.

So, it's a win-win, we all get GTA V, and we also get the most realistic soft body physics simulator ever made.

If you want, you can try 'Rigs of Rods', it too is a soft body physics simulator, with heaps of mods released all the time.

GTA V can't just add soft body physics completly random. It takes time to develop + that people are gonna bitch about it being to realistic. GTA will never be "realistic" just accept it. You can buy BeamNG if you want realistic crashes. The developers of RoR is making BeamNG..

BeamNG huh? It was pretty impressive when I first saw it.

But for a GTA game, we already have dynamic deformation.

Didn't they say they ditched CryEngine 3 and ported their code to some other Freeware engine?

I would love damage like that because I love crushing up cars on GTA IV.

Would make car crashs alot better i think. I also think that if the drivers side takes a big high speed hit that the player should be hurt or even killed. Driving a 18 wheeler would be alot of fun.

Dear lord How fast was that car going, Absolutely obliterated.

I wouldn't mind that kind of damage but only if cars collide at ridiculous speeds

Maybe it will be a bit like that in next gen GTA, but i don't think it would be much fun to wreck a car as soon as you hit something

This, the car should only do this when you're speeding excessively, and some cars should be able to shrug off some hits.

I didn't like how in 4, you could take the Rancher and smash cars nearly full speed and get no more than a slight dent in the bumper. It'd take roughly 5 of these to make it catch fire, and you'd have no more than a smashed grill, with no chance of engine damage. Either they need to make the cars that do this stronger, so they take more to blow up, or they need to make the cars take more damage.

Personally, I'd like them to take more damage. If you smash into something 35 MPH+ your car is f*cked in real life.

Anything over 70 MPH+ should equal a totaled car in V, or significant damage.

We've been over this, it would render your car useless after one big crash.

this would suck, if they wanted it to be realistic like this they would've already done that in GTA IV, you can't just make every car not use able after every stupid crash^^

EDIT: and the car is much too soft by the way

As it should though, to some effect. Older, bigger cars will be able to handle more than a small compact car. If you're going max speed and hit something, your car should be totaled.

The best way to include that would be to give players an option to choose between realistic crashes and normal GTA style crashes

In GTAIV you need many hits to get it to this:

I hope it'll be a bit better in GTAV, but I think it'll be the same as 4, as they use a lot of models from that game.

It's slow motion. In real life about 60mph would be enough to make that much damage. Especially if the car is from early 90's or older.

That kind of physics would be perfect but current consoles would not be albe to handle it in a game like GTA.
What comes to car driving physics and damage, more realistic is better. It would be nice if you had to pay more attention to your driving. One crash should total your car. In GTA IV you had to crash like 10 times to before you broke the car and motorcycle physics and crashes should also be improved. I pretty much never fall of the bike in GTA IV unless I'm doing it on purpose.

Dont we already have evidence of this from trailer 2? The scene with jimmy on the highway shows a car being completely crushed between 2 trucks. Someone here made it into a gif before.

GTA6 should be like that. I think realism is never too much for GTA. Look at the old games and how much progress has been made.
