I always felt like there was some weird feeling in GTA3. Do you get this feeling playing other R* games?

No...maybe GTA2, but farting and burping isn't the same as those ambient sounds and building sounds and ped sounds in GTA III.

also i would like to point out that, this poll only for GTA universe, so thats why Bully and Manhunt are included but not Max Payne, Red Dead, The Warriors or Midnight Series.

Strange question, if you ask me. None other game than GTA3 had the GTA3 vibe. It is what is special about this game. Besides, you didn't describe what exactly is that "weird feeling". You mean nostalgia? I have some comparable amount of that towards Vice City, but I have different memories from that (different vibe), hence the "weird feeling" as you call it, isn't the same as with GTA3.

GTA 3 has unique atmosphere, as well as every other GTA game has unique atmosphere. But I would go with VC & VCS, while VC captured 80s atmoshpere with more of a "scareface" feeling, VCS gave Vice city a bit more colorful and cheerful atmosphere.

Vice City always gave me that special feeling. inlove.gif Even when the theme song comes on, it just gives me goose bumps.

I chose Bully.

It's just GTA + School and it's amazing. I've never seen a game have a setting like that before.

Yes, that weird feeling.

I know exactly what you talk about and that one weird unique feeling, I have in several other games made by R*

I think the "vibe" from GTA III was a mix of a gritty world meshed with a depressing atmosphere. It really was unique.

Bully had that super-duper R* feeling. That game was truly amazing. It was practically "Grand Theft Auto: High School"

I'm going to say Manhunt.

Why? GTA 3 was special, but Vice City, SA etc followed a similar formula, meaning as great as they were, they still followed a predecessor and had matching foundations (Third Person Free Roam in an American City with series specific gags and vibes) Bully was the schoolyard GTA, meaning it wasn't too different either. RD Redemption was fantastic but had RD Revolver before it, it's theme and intent followed through.

Manhunt however was in a league of its own in terms of how violent and controversial it was, whilst the GTA's always had that "It's a bad influence but it's all cartoon violence" Manhunt was downright sinister and almost vulgar in what it was. I don't think any game before it was as blunt in it's level of violence and execution, I think it's pushed the controversial gaming boundaries more than any other and has yet to be superseded. It's like the Clockwork Orange of the gaming world.

I get that special feeling whenever I play a R* game. That thing. That magic. You only feel it in special games. GTA VC, SA, Bully and Red Dead Redemption gave me this feeling. GTA IV did too, but that was only after quite a while. It took a little while to sink in. Whenever you play a R* game, you know its something amazing. :'D

Got to agree with this. There is a certain air and tone to the game that no other has ever matched. Not even the sequel.

Definetly VC. inlove.gif I find SA to have a great atmosphere, too. I have many wonderful memories with that game.
