| That may sound like a good idea... If given a proper development.|
If anybody wants to add me on Facebook - do not hesitate to PM me.
Although I have nothing to fear of regarding my personal data, I still don't like the idea of having at least 5% of Forum members freely access my account to add me as their friend. I've learned that from _____.
The problem is, will it develop? Facebook and many other social networking sites are prone to spam and utter bullsh*t. The other problem is that no-one knows the future of these sites and one day they may cease to exist. I think the issue with this idea is that you say 'Facebook' where many users I know on this site do not have a Facebook account.
If this does develop... I think its a great idea! Also, how will you know when someone is dead. Here is something I want to say:
At my school a student passed away following a heart attack during a February week off. He was 12/13 (No idea which) and when he died his parents deleted his Facebook account. Now, before you say 'What about a page or group to say he is dead' well there is a page on Facebook called 'R.I.P Jackie Chan' so being as pessimistic as I am... Pages can be the biggest lies on the whole site.
The point is, how do we know for sure that someone dies? Facebook will always have its limitations when it comes to deaths...
What about the current inactive members? When they die, how do we know?
Adriaan has pointed out Google's plans. Although this may be a bad idea (In cases of lost passwords), maybe it is a good idea?
Now, I am really Sorry if my post is the biggest load of crap you have ever read, I just went on and on.... AV, I don't think I'll add you or any forum member on Facebook
