Well, I'm getting my license for 520 euros. I guess they have decreased the prices due to the crisis.

Somewhere around 460-500 Euros for driving school and then 90 for taking making the license, theory test and the driving test. Redoing theory cost about 28 and driving 40. You can get the license when you are at least 18. For the first 2 years you can go up to maximum of 90 km/h. Then your license will be switched and you can drive at whatever speed the signs allow you to do. Unfortunately I had to do the driving test 3 times all together. Thankfully besides a few minor f*ck ups during first weeks it has gone well so far.

lessons here in the Netherlands cost around 40 to 50 euros per hour. the average student needs 20 to 30 lessons. The theory exam sets u back around 40,- and the real driving exam about 180 euros.

so a driving license here costs between a 1000 an d 1500 euros, if you pass all the exams in one go

Provisional: £50

Lessons: About £600

Theory: £30

Practical: £62

Total - Around £750. Could be cheaper but not as insane as in some other countries. Insurance is another matter.

I'm going for my Learner plates on the 23 of December which is just an answer test, no actual driving involved obviously due to the fact that you're not meant to have any driving experience prior to the test (but I'm a bit sneaky and have driven the Subaru around many farms :p )
