Just wanna pop a question, is the map same as Far Cry 3 with a different skin or what?

No, it's not the same map from FC3. It's smaller for one.

Really? I found it to be really boring. Plus it's the most expensive gun to buy ammo for.

For someone who hasn't played FC3 does this show it off enough to make someone want to play it? Or does it mainly use completely different mechanics and features?

Played part of the demo and going to buy full game now.
Love the 80s style and humour.

The core mechanics are identical to FC3. There are just some changes to names, skills, skins and weapons.

@mrpain - The map is about the same size as the second island in FC3.

It's obvious, but worth mentioning, FC3 has a normal day & night cycle.

One of things I loved in FC3 was hiding in the overgrowth of the jungle with the midday sun pounding down, waiting to spot a Tiger with my sniper rifle at the ready. Nothing but the gentle buzz of the insect life and a distant ripple of pirate gunfire to keep me company. Very absorbing.

I lost interest when I was playing FC3 earlier this year. But this one is very different. I just love this kind of cheesy 80's stuff. I haven't even played that many new games this year, but this one is surely worth its price and I finished it without any kind of hesitation. It's probably going to be the best DLC of the year. The soundtrack is killer. icon14.gif

Until it takes five headshots from the aforementioned sniper rifle to drop said tiger.

Loving this. I was talking to my younger Minecraft buddy who has this.
I said about how I find all the references funny, he's like "what references"?
"All the eighties movie references like terminator, and all eighties science fiction action movies", I was goin got mention the short haired blonde woman being in the style of many actresses back then too, but he didn't even get the terminator reference and this made me sad.

He then told me about the only reference he got at the end, shoop dewhoop. I had to youtube it.

I'm playing this with memories of terminator, Beverly Hills cop (blonde woman) the running man, snake pliskin. Ahh so many I can't even think about it.

Anyway loving it, and it's not easy to sneak around everyone which is good.

Alright, before I blow 1600 msp away, let me ask a stupid question. Do you need the Far Cry 3 game to be able to play Blood Dragon? Is this an Arcade Game or is it DLC?

The only question that needs asking, is were you around in the eighties early ninetys?
If yes, you will love it.

Oh I don't own and have not played Far Cry 3.

It's only 1200 msp and it's a stand alone arcade game. Just buy it. Regardless of your age, you would have to be a humorless, game hating turd not to enjoy it.

Thanks for the info, I thought it was 1600.

I know it's kind of stupid, but I lol'ed when I discovered the ability to flip off. lol.gif

The overall cheesiness of the humour is what makes it so fun. It feels like The Terminator and a bunch of other 80s sci fis.

It's great. inlove.gif

Apparently, the game sold five times more than they expected and they are now considering a sequel.

You have no idea how happy that news makes me, imagine Blood Dragon with twice the damn content and by extension twice the length. This sounds freaking fantastic, Ubisoft might finally start seeing sense again when it comes to making awesome games.

They scratched an itch I didn't know I had with this game. Now I'm patiently waiting for them to figure out that they can make a FC3 western inspired by old Sergio Leone movies.

"Look around to look around"

"Climb to go higher"
"Seriously?"

And they even added Cobra Assault Cannon from Robocop and action-lever shotgun from Terminator? Yummy.
