Release Date(s):
PS3 - April 30th
PC - May 1st
Xbox - May 1st

Far Cry® 3: Blood Dragon is THE Kick-Ass Cyber Shooter.

Welcome to an 80’s vision of the future. The year is 2007 and you are Sargent Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando. Your mission: get the girl, kill the baddies, and save the world.

Experience every cliché of a VHS era vision of a nuclear future, where cyborgs, blood dragons, mutants, and Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Navy Seals) collide.

Playing Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon does not require a copy of Far Cry® 3.

At first, I was kind of against Ubisoft Montreal "wasting" their money with Far Cry 3 DLCs (I know this is a standalone, but it's built off Far Cry 3's assets) with GTA V coming so near its release (GTA V would have been the only thing making profits), but then GTA V was delayed. So, I'm actually looking quite forward to this now. The nostalgia (even if I was born in the 1990s) and the lore behind this game make it very appealing to look at.

Mindf*ck. Never expected something like this to be a game. Way too over-the-top and too many colors for my taste. On the other hand, It's something new, might be fun tho.

Most DLC is around the 1200MSP mark anyway, this is that price and anyone can buy it without owning the full game. This also means there will be a trial for anyone to play for free, there are no excuses not to buy this.

My advice is, check to see if you have a penis and testicles and love 80s references, THEN BUY IT.

Do it even if you don't.

Best piece of work as a gaming standpoint in a long, long ass time.

It's awesome, the main character is Duke Nukem and Terminator's love child.

It's NOT a DLC, it's a XBLA and PSN game.

People are going to call it DLC anyway, Remedy did the same thing with Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

It's also a PC release.

It's $15 and said to be 15+ hours of gameplay which is awesome for a stand alone expansion pack like this. It looks like Ubisoft has knocked one out of the park with this one.

It's well worth the $15. Like I said before, it's like shooting a hypo full of 80's awesome. It has the same basic mechanics of FC3 but you get most of the skills and weapons from the start. It's also literally impregnated with hilarious 80's action references, funny dialog and wit. So check to make sure you have a nutsack and if you do, buy this sh*t on May 1st.

That is really insane. I noticed how fast you can run around in FC3. Pressing R3 for a Takedown 6 or 8ft from a guy while sprinting...man I slice up the whole village. So this sci fi sh*t could be so fast paced.

Yeah, it is. Sprinting is as fast or faster than driving and it's not uncommon to chain together four or more takedowns. Cyborgs, man.

I guess you are the reason why most games have drab brown everywhere. We need more games with colour, not less.

Anyways, I've preordered it and I am waiting for May 1st to hit. Should be great fun.

First time I saw the trailer I was like WAT! Year 2007, the apocalypse has had an apocalypse, cyber hell! Pre-order now! Couldn't get any better since I love the 80's action movies.

Well I guess this is a... far cry from Far Cry 3 eh? Eh?

Loving it. Love the soundtrack. And love what General said about games needing more color.

Well, I believe the punchline for the first game was something like "a far cry from home" or something like that. So, from the sounds of it, the games are supposed to have at least some sci-fi or supernatural elements. However, Ubisoft seemed like they tried to stay within the realm of realism with Far Cry 2.

Absolutely. I'm sick of washed out colors and turd brown filters. Mirror's Edge was a breath of fresh air to the color spectrum when it came out and Blood Dragon will be as well.

The soundtrack is 80s bliss too. Basically anyone who likes the 80s overload of Hotline Miami should get this.

wow, they must have been really high when they made this game
it's funny how the game is named "Far Cry" while it has nothing to do with Far Cry series

I would love that Banana Carrier and the Official Washing Machine. icon14.gif

Though seriously, I need some merchandise so I advertise the game.

Other than, you know, using the same engine and exact same gameplay mechanics. That said, none of the actual Far Cry games had any relation to each other other than the fact that they take place in some foreign "exotic" area and are set in a similar time period.

I'm really loving that website's spoof on merchandising. They're really missing out on the Laser Disc option for the movie though.
