Merry Christmas to my fellow writers.
Currently working on some projects specifically for posting on this board. It's a story in the style of a gaming campaign journal/After-Action Report of sorts based in my love of tabletop RPG's and Wide Open Sandbox video games.
So, there would be "stats" of sorts, each chapter tracking the protagonist character's equipment, vitality, and progress within the world of the story. There would be multiple protagonists and each chapter is written in the First-Person perspective.
Not sure if I want to set the story in a traditional Medieval Fantasy/Swords & Sorcery setting like the early editions of Dungeons & Dragons or instead do a zombie apocalypse setting inspired by Day Z, the early Resident Evil games, and The Walking Dead. Personally, I am leaning towards the latter idea, with a fictional country setting that blends both Appalachian-American and Eastern European influences and aesthetics.
I might even make an in-universe "Concept Thread" if that is okay. Not as an actual concept thread like in the GTA General Discussion, but more of as a framing device for the main story, the journals and survival logs of the characters in the story.
Chances are that I'll post the mini-Concept Thread as a post in this thread than have it take up space as a thread in this sub-forum. I know a while back we voted down the idea of Concept Threads in the Writer's Discussion.
I've already got some hand-written bullet-point style outlines of the project in my notebook beside me right now. This isn't some flash-in-the-pan impulse story like my previous one-shots and failed stories, but a dedicated writing project.
