It's not really a goodbye.

I won't say goodbye to GTA IV. I'll still play it from time to time once I get V, as well as the III-era games still.

Already have. Wasn't a big fan of IV. Played through it once back in 2008 and kept it a while just to go around causing trouble. Gave it away. Don't miss it. I've been playing III/Vice City/San Andreas up until yesterday when my original PS3 died. Getting a new PS3 so no GTA until V is out.

I still play all the GTA's. I'm not going to stop just because I added a new one to the collection.

Why drive a corvette when you have a Ferrari? Maybe I like my Corvette as well.

For me, saying "goodbye" to IV will be more like a fun little ritual than anything else. I don't have any intentions to completely abandon it or previous GTA games, but I know for sure I won't be playing anything else for a while when I get V.

I am not going to say goodbye. f*ck GTA IV. It's mediocre and I got sick of it. There is no saying bye, only hello to the next thing.

IV has given me plenty of brilliant gaming memories. From the chillin with mates in free-roam (unless someone else kills me then I hunt them down and constantly kill them) to the frantic gta racing, getting chased and out running the retards in choppers on free roam (tbogt) or the tight street racing without guns (gta 4). As I type I am putting a rocket into the 1st place racer on taxiing biggrin.gif ah good times... listen to that player swear!!! hahahaha!!! I'll grab a bus on the next stars in their eyes and cause a bit of mayhem on the streets. I'll say goodbye by continuing to play online up till the launch of gta 5. Till then, if i'm racing without guns i'll be in the top 3, if its a gta race and i'm not in the mood for racing... watch for them rockets coming your way wink.gif MY GOD I LOVE GTA!!!

This might be the wrong section and I could have waited a bit but I am curious how the other forum members are going to say goodbye to our beloved GTA IV...

I for one am just going to cruise the city listening to the NPC's and the radio and play some freemode and deathmatch. Probably most of the night on September 16th...

Anyone else?

Don't take it personal. But I find this topic silly. Perhaps people will stop playing GTA IV once GTA V is out. I'm not one of them.
It's not like GTA IV will vanish on September 17th, 2013.

It's still there and I'll play it if the mood takes me.
Just like GTA 3 or Vice or San Andreas.

I'm gonna have a playthrough from IV to TBOGT. Then I'll play GTAV.

I'll push all the friends (Roman, Brucie etc.) off buildings, go on a killing spree then leave it on my shelf for me to play in 5 years time.

If I find V more fun than IV, I won't go back. I want to experience new things. I found IV more fun than SA and never went back.

Depends on how I view V. I may just leave IV on a shelf and return to it or if V is amazing I may say goodbye to IV for longer. However in both instances I will return to IV, I just don't know when

Maybe its just me but once I beat a mission I have no desire to replay it and soon after V comes out I bet IV's online will be nearly dead. I would bet battling with the cops in V will be much better than IV.

I won't say goodbye.

I'll play V for months on end when it drops, but I'll go back to doing a IV + episodes campaigns now and again for nostalgia purposes, just as I still do with San Andreas. I play III + VC on my android too, so it's all good.

I think I've already said goodbye. I haven't played it in awhile. Been playing a lot of RDR though.

My Plan:

1.Go to the Northern end of Star Junction.
2.Wait so long that Liberty Rock Radio plays New York Groove
3.Cruise to airport with my car (Haven't decided yet, probably yellow Comet or Red Sultan RS
4.Fly to the sunset with Maverick (I will code Maverick and wait for the right time.)

I have always loved IV and will probably be back thought, but still.

I bet on 9.16.13 will be the most peaceful freemode since day 1.

I never really like GTAIV as a city, too dark and stuff, vice city/sa was so fun compared to GTAIV, ye graphics are great and engine is amazing but it's not everything

Highly unlikely. The dickless little hackers will look at that day as the very last day they get to use their sh*t little cheats on everyone before IV's free mode is completely deserted.

It's really comforting knowing that these little kids are only going to have each other to piss off come the release of V. Granted 'normal players' will probably still be playing IV's FM, but nowhere near the amount who currently play it.

This is what I am planning, although I think I will wait for '1979' by Smashing Pumpkins as it is more sad and nostalgia inducing for me haha. I will park up in the multi-story car park at the airport and everything. Damn that is going to be an exciting time.
