I am currently on 34 hours of being awake, and to be honest, I feel completely normal. It started last night, when I tried to go sleep at 4am, and found myself still awake come 6am, so I decided to ditch bedtime altogether and muscle through the day in an attempt to sort out my sleeping routine before college on monday.

Now, i'm wondering, shouldn't I be completely fatigued by now? I mean, it's been 34 hours, and I feel fine, as if i'd slept normal the night before.

Just wondering if other people can easily carry on without sleep? and what's the longest you've ever gone without it?

My longest? Probably between 35 and 40 hours. All I remember was going without sleep one night. Then Again I probably woke up late on Day 1 and slept late on Day 2 because if I woke up early on Day 1 I could of easily done a few more hours

Ooh about five seconds over herhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhadsfngfnhfddssss

Well actually I've not stayed awake for too long. Once I went to bed at around 5AM but that's about it, generally I sleep at around 10-11PM or whenever my parents start bitching which gladly isn't too common now.

Was watching a stream of one fella who was playing WoW from level 1-90, in one sitting. Without sleeping. Clearly, I didn't watch the entire thing but checked up once in a while. He was awake for around 80 hours, I believe. The hallucinations he was having on cam was simultaneously humorous and disturbing.

I'm a pussy about staying awake, I love to sleep. I can't recall any time I've stayed up past 24 hours.

About 40 hours for me. Got up around 9am one morning and went to bed about midnight the next day. Unexpectedly got called into a work one night for a night shift since there was a lot going on. Had class the next day so I couldn't sleep.

I don't remember what time I woke up the previous day, but when I was 11 I pulled an all nighter with my friend, and I stayed up til 7 at night the next day. 28 hours at least. I just chugged a whole can of pepsi at once, I didn't expect to stay up for so long though. I could have went longer, but I got really bored.

Stayed up for 2 days at the most. Spent the night watching a Chucky marathon and spent the rest of the day doing regular stuff before hitting the hay. I've never stayed up the whole night again.

Three days, with a five hour nap somewhere in the middle. Split that however you want and that's the longest I've been awake.

I've been going to bed around 20:00 now. I feel a lot happier doing my sh*t at four in the morning than I did using up time until it was too late to be awake any more. I also get to see the sun rise and hear the birds chirp every day now! I absolutely love it! biggrin.gif

40 hours on multiple occasions. That's the longest I can go without starting to see things.

Do you have a link to where the stream happened? What kind of hallucinations did he have?

I remember the first time I tried it I felt like throwing up about 28 hours into it, I couldn't even eat at all and felt like I was sick.. once I took a nap it went away.

Anyway the most I've been awake was about 50 hours, I wasn't tired still but School was approaching after summer break so I had to fix up my sleeping schedule right away

Yeah I used to get nauseous around 30 hours in as well. Weird. Not to the extent where I was actually sick or needed to nap, though.

I think around 38 hours is the most I've been awake.

~50 hours.

Coming home to Australia from Macedonia.

Skopje - Belgrade = 45 mins.

5 hour plane delay.

Belgrade - Frankfurt don't remember but roughly 3 hours

Then another 5 hour wait

Frankfurt - Dubai 5.5 hours

wopping 9 hour wait

Dubai - Perth - 10.5 hours

Didn't sleep a single bit on the plane.

Arrived in Perth at 2am. Pulled an all nighter!

Fell asleep at 12pm.

I think my record is 43 hours. That was years (and years) ago though and I remember staying up all night on an IRC channel. I had Dairylea Lunchables and Dr Pepper to get me through, but then I fell asleep on the chair. No chance I could do that nowadays.

The worst thing about staying up, is when you're having a sleep over and you make a commitment with your sleep over buddy(s) and the twats nod off whilst watching a film. It's the ultimate stab in the back.

My record is about 40 hours I think. Doing it to correct your sleeping pattern never works though, not for me at least.

Longest I have stayed awake for is 75 hours over 3 days 3 joints a day for all 3 days, night shift for 2 of those days and on the final day out clubbing and drinking needless to say my eyes looked f*cked by the third night and I slept for 12 hours strait on sunday. That was a great week allthough still paying for it now 4 years later. You can never catch up on lost sleep fact!

Yeah, I've had all good intentions of doing that before but I end up sleeping for like 14 hours and you're back to square one then and still wide awake come the next evening.

Back in my tweeker days 96 hours without sleep was the most I could take before I went to sleep because I was bored and there was nothing else to clean.

The longest I have stayed up is 2 days straight. And that was back in 2004 when Spider-Man 2 and GTA SA came out. Played both of them wihtout even moving a muscle, I rarely ate too. I know it was unhealthy, but damn those games were addicting back then!

Stayed up for 3 days, over a long weekend. Fell asleep at 6am on Monday and woke up 12 hours later. No hallucinations, but my vision started to blur and I was fading in and out of consciousness for quite awhile

Some interesting replies, thanks guys!

Seems some people can manage it & others can't. I suddenly remembered when I went LA on holiday I was awake for 26 hours, & I was 15 then, I was fine until my mum told me how long we'd actually been awake, then I felt drained. Just shows its mind over matter I guess.

I just woke up from a 10 hour sleep after reaching 37 hours of being awake, the sleep was beautiful!

Damn guys, I've never made it even past a full day (24 hours) and that is my max.

I've spent more than a day asleep though, do I win anything for that?
