Im surprised no ones talked about this show yet
First episode was released last week, and personally i found it to be very engaging.
Mads Dittmann Mikkelsen pulled off Hannibal very well, esp after I was worried that I would just compare it to hopkins portrayl in the films, the show itself is extremely violent and disturbing so far which is good as it works with the whole idea.

Im hopeful the rest of the season is as strong as the opening episode and that the show doe'snt get cancelled, with breaking bad wraping up this summer and walking dead failing to hold my interest latly, I've been looking for a new show to tide me over, the could be it icon14.gif

Anyone else watch it?

Loved the first episode, will be watching the second one tomorrow.

Not sure if they can make it interesting for more than a season, but I'll definitely give it a shot.

I've watched both episodes and so far I love it! Hopefully NBC gives it a chance, I'd hate to see it get cancelled.

I will continue to watch it in case it gets better because I usually like weird sh*t like this. But for now the writing is predictable and it feels forced and acting feels dry and kind of soulless. I don't know how to explain it exactly. But there seems to be some kind of disconnect between what's going on and how everyone is reacting to events around them that makes the show feel shallow.

Mads Mikkelsen is one of my favourite actors and he's quite good in this, but ATM it feels like its trying too hard. It feels as if it's trying for HBO level of quality but it just can't. I'm getting a Breaking Bad mixed with CSI kind of vibe (and not in a good way).

The writing isn't great and Laurence Fishburne as Jack Crawford just doesn't fit at all, some of his lines were making me cringe pretty badly.

Has no one watched the latest episodes yet?

Anyway I watched it and what can I say, it was a great episode. The scene with Will killing the nurse was creepy as hell. Sort of a Psycho Shower thing, the imagining was the worst. I hope they have more episodes like this one, where the focus is one Will, Hannibal, Jack and the rest of the main cast.

If no one has watched this yet, then you should atleast watch this for Will's gruesome killing where he hits the nurse's throat, tears apart her vocal chords in order to stop her from screaming.

I've seen all three episodes. Mads Mikkelson was definitely an extremely good choice as his role as Hannibal Lector is truly amazing. I'm still not too sure what I think about Hugh Dancy playing as Will Graham, but one thing is for sure; Laurence Fishburne should not have been chosen to play Jack Crawford. Jack was caucasian in all of the movies and now he suddenly is seen as African-American. A very disappointing decision from NBC, although it doesn't make me too disappointed; if it did I wouldn't watch the show.

I'm not too sure if anybody else feels the same way but Abigail is a very mysterious character. I think that she helped her father murder the women that he did in some way or another. She's just too simple. How she reacted to finding her parents were dead was too normal, and she went on to talk about selling the house. Something's wrong. I'm hopping Freddie (the reporter) is murdered by Hannibal because she's a snake who's trying to ruin Will. I wonder if Hannibal will murder Abigail as she knows his secret; that he was the man on the phone to her father on the day he killed Abigail's mother and tried to kill Abigail.

All 3?
There's like 7 or 8.

Just watch them online instead of waiting for them to be on TV. icon14.gif

I'll have to check it out, I hope they don't drag it out for too long and ruin it, maximum of four seasons is what I can see.

I'd really like to see a new Hannibal movie, but at the same time I felt it was a nice ending to the franchise.

Hannibal Rising shouldn't even have been made as there was only three books.

Fantastic episode! I knew I was going to love this episode as soon as I saw Abigail was back. Even though the case of the weeks are better than a lot of other shows out there, I really feel like anything involving her is just on another level. I think what makes it so good is how she effects the four leads in the show. You got Will, who still feels responsible for heer since he was the one who killed her father. Then there is Alana, who is very protective of her and is willing to confront people over it. Ofcourse, you got Jack, who truely believes she is more responsible then she lets on, and won't sugar-coat it. And thene, there is HANNIBAL! Oh, Hannibal. You mind-f*cks, and the way you try to influence her are so wrong, but they're so awesome to watch, nonetheless. I do think there is something there that resembles "caring" from him, but at the same time, I don't think he'll have any issues breaking this connection. The part where he said he left like she lost his trust sounded very threatening, like he was silently adding "If you do try to expose me, I will have no issues ending you." Creepy as hell. Either way, all her scenes are brimming with win, and the actress is just amazing in the role.

Just saw this thread in a locked topic.

I was wondering if anyone else on this forum was a fan of the show. I've been watching it since release last year and love it! I wasn't sure after I saw the first episode but I kept with it and I am glad I did, I love the atmosphere of the show and the acting.

A lot of people think it's creepy I love this show. I've tried to get a few people into it, but they just get creeped out. Especially at the Angel Maker episode.

I just finished the 4th episode. Season 2 is miles better than season 1 which was already pretty damn good to begin with. The cinematography is stunning, Hugh Dancy plays the role of Will Graham exceptionally well. This is probably the most suspenseful show I've watched in recent times.

Just me and another buddy in college watch this show, been trying to convince more people but they just freak out after a few episodes, lol.
