Using componentpeds as own skins

gotta question: Is it possible to use skins from componentpeds as skins in playerpeds? I know it is possible with Playerselector, but it crashes in cutscenes?
Is there any way to make this work?
For example i would like to play with this skin:
I already tried to export the textures from componentpeds.img to playerpeds.img... but it doesn't work.
Help would be appreciated.

I am unfamiliar with san andreas modding, so I don't know what file type it is.

If these files do not exist in this format for the peds, then you will need to convert and export the 3D model in order to make each of those files.

OP, To make turn a ped into a player model you need to have 3ds Max + GIMS + OpenIV. Export the ped to 3dsmax, remove it's skeleton, import Niko, rig the ped to Niko's (player-format) skeleton, export, done. Yeah that's a huge oversimplification but i can give all the info about every step, done it before plenty of times.
Edit: I forgot to say, 3ds Max 2012 is the version you'll need.

I just didn't mention what program he would have to use, there are a tonne of tutorials out there for this sort of stuff, he should go find it himself to be honest.
Also what you have to consider is that I have been modding gta for ooh what, a week?

Barcaninho, you're gonna need more than just OpenIV to get what you want, good luck though.

P.S. I have not viewed it but as Frank.s there mentioned you have to delete nikos body and attach the ped to the skeleton then export it, I do not know the ins & outs, check that video out, see if it is any help.

I've managed to do what i wanted. But there is a little problem with the face:
I imported the "head_000_r" from the model i wanted into playerped. Consequently, I have to open it with SparkIV in order
to change the specs. But it doesn't work.. Spark IV gives me this error: "There are no embedded textures in the selected model file to edit."
I just need to open that and to replace it with the right textures and specs and everything is done. In-game, I can see the error because of that,
as my player has something like branches on the head.
I appreciate any help.

As you can see in the picture, Niko's hair is in the face of my character. Furthermore there is a problem with teeth and hands. Probably the texture problem is caused by that. The remaining problem is that I can't open head_000_r.wdr (SparkIV doesn't allow that - I don't know why and I can't click "Edit" on this file in OpenIV). Unfortunately, I can't get the teeth and the hairfile (+specs) from the componentpeds.
I am so near... but this last problem is still here.
