I love michael's character. I think it fits well into this new GTA Universe. I'm keeping old school I'm from the hood, but live classier now and my money is clean. I feel uncomfortable playing as a snitch rat bastard. It just goes against what I stand for and it breaks the code of the streets. Does anyone else uncomfortable playing as a rat bastard? I'm sure theres missions where we have no choice but to play as micheal, but I'm gonna try to avoid playing as him as much as possible.

I would love playing as a genius, maybe the smartest protagonist so far.

If you had the choice between ratting someone out for your family's safety and keeping quiet for one of your criminal associates like hell would you choose the criminal.

It's in the past for Michael and adds some very interesting back story to his character; I look forward to playing as him.

I'm sure there's a good reason why he did it.

Yeah your right. Nobody likes a bitch ass snitch. I feel like he gon f*ck up at the end of the game since he a snitch but then when the cops are coming and they are all gonna be arrested Micheal takes all the heat kinda like something you would expect to see in a Fast and the Furious movie

No, it's a game. The purpose of a good film, game or good art is to bring us in to another world in which we can experience, through different eyes. I just don't see myself feeling uncomfortable. I'm not sure why anyone would. From the hood or not.

Well most people like the OP and I probably never been put in asituation where the criminal was just some random guy but close friends. and families have never had to be chosen over that friend because the friend would stand up for the family as well as you would too. Hope the OP knows what I mean, idk him so he could have different experiences.

So you're perfectly comfortable playing as a murder and a thief, but not as a "rat bastard"?

Model citizen here. sarcasm.gif

Being a snitch is what makes Michael's character interesting. Oh, and you're an idiot if you buy into that "honor among thieves" bullsh*t. There is nothing honorable in being a criminal.

Meh, I don't care. Its only a game. Besides, I am a lot more interested as to why Michael did what he did, as opposed to only looking at what he did.

I am from "the hood" as well but come on man, its only a game. I am fairly certain OP, that if you were in the right predicament, you'd snitch too.

Im guessing it has been mentioned before, but i am certain that alot of the people who are "uncomfortable with it" are hypocrates.
First of all in that situation i am certain that a vast majority had "ratted" everyone out.
Second, look at all the stuff you do in GTA games, and its "ratting people out" that makes people uncomfortable?

Exactly. Who in their right mind wouldn't snitch if it meant avoiding doing time and protecting the people you love most? If there's anything we should have learned from Casino, Goodfellas, Vice City, San Andreas, etc., it's that your organization will betray you before you ever get a chance to betray it. As soon as you become a liability to an organization (whether gang, cartel, mafia, political), they won't give two sh*ts about you or your loyalty.

That's why you have to put yourself first. This is the romantic ideal that makes GTA great: being in it for yourself.

And this is exactly why I believe one or more of the protagonists will slowly be revealed as the antagonist.

I don't know about you, but in all my GTA games, my character is always a mass murderer and the biggest terrorist (because they blow stuff up and kill at least a million people smile.gif ), so playing as a snitch will feel SOOO uncomfortable... sarcasm.gif

Mike sitting in a mansion about to get back in the game he at the statutes all the past protagonist was chasing it'll be interesting to see how his story turns out Plus we don't know how far his snitch statues go he probably had to do it to save his family.

Exactly, cause the saying is actually "There Is No Honor among thieves", so indeed, lol, what do the people that got ratted on expect, right? tounge.gif

"the code of the streets". sigh.gif

I think most people play just these games for fun, not to reinforce some ridiculous notion of being a 'honorable' criminal, as opposed to a 'dishonorable' 'snitch'.

Are you telling me other criminals, let say drug dealers, don't use the system to take over turf? You do what you can to make sure your always on top of any situation. This snitch BS only goes for witnesses.

Would I sell out my crew, that can later stab me in the back because of greed, or get a fat payday and live it up in a beautiful city? Your damn right I would take that payday and live it up!

Then what are you guys? Video game thugs, nothing wrong with that, but if your on the streets grinding hard then do what you gotta do but most people on this forum have a steady job and lifestyle. Idk its hard out there sometimes. If you wanna talk about internet thugs then I guess we all are that

LMFO. Michael being a video game character, how does him being a snitch affect your life personally? Is Michael's snitching going to get you or one of your homies put in jail, in real life?
