I really want to know, what makes you cry?

Have you ever cried from anything fictional, like a video game, book, show, movie? What about things in reality? What does it take to make you cry? I read posts by people explaining how they cried during movie scenes and video games. That's what inspired this thread.

I have never, ever, ever, cried from a video game, movie, book, show, or anything fictional. I have even seen someone get killed and I didn't cry at all (#RaisedInTheGhetto). I actually haven't cried in almost a year...

I almost cried twice in Toy Story 3, the first time was when they were at the dump with the fire, and the second was when Andy didn't want to give up Woody. sad.gif

The only time I cried during a movie was when the dude's dog, Sam, died in I Am Legend. Also, sometimes I cry when I feel nostalgic, usually when I'm looking at photos of past vacations, because my family's become really screwed up and has fell apart, but was perfect back then.

I literally sobbed at Hachi: A Dog's Tale. That movie was sad as f*ck. I also shed a couple tears at the ending of MGS4. Best story line in video gaming ever.

I cried after watching The Elephant Man and I seriously have no idea how did this happen.

L.A. Noire made me cry, I dropped a tear or two.
Damn, that game was so enjoyable, but the Free-Roam was boring TBH.
I wish it had Multiplayer, like L.A. Cops'N'Crooks.
That would have been epic.

I am looking forward to L.A. Noire 2!

Terminator 2: The Judgment Day made me cry too.

I'm going to cry when Chop dies in GTAV. But to answer your question honestly, the only times I've cried is when someone in my life has died.

Every time I watch this goal...

...I well up a bit. I was at this match (those of you who are into football will understand the significance of this goal/match) and it was, easily, the greatest day of my life (so far).

Sad music and built-up frustration/stress.

I can't sing anything soulful without crying either; I think I'd be terribly embarrassed all the time if I was in a choir.

It's funny you should post that picture, as the ironic thing is, watching that film was the last time I remember loosening a few tears.

During the latter part of this scene:

Clint just always reminds me of my old man, who funnily enough rarely cried about anything.

Being a stupid wimp used to make me cry. Music can still have a similar effect on me sometimes. I can't bring myself to cry while listening unless I think of something personal, usually relating to the past, but that's a big no-no.

I used to go for a walk alone to meditate. There were moments when I was truly present and aware of what was happening on the street (the traffic, lights etc) and it filled me with joy, the joy of being alive. I actually cried on a couple of occasions because I was overwhelmed by all the beauty that was everywhere. It's like drugs in a sense, but you are fully conscious. This reminds me that I should practice more often.

Same here, I cried during that movie.

I cry reasonably quick, except when I'm hurt (physically).

Surprisingly, hurting myself makes me laugh most of the time.

I can relate to that 100%. Never cried because of it though, but it is overwhelming.

The ending of RDR had me. Not the cutscene but the music in the credits. Could have something to do with the fact that for the past 3 days I played through the whole story. 10+ hours a day. Then it ended very dramatically, and this song plays.

I rolled a tear after Glenn's death in The Walking Dead's #100 issue. That was brutally sad.

You know, as I said, I cried for a character's death, but I have never cried for that in a videogame, movie or book. You know why? Because in those kinds of media, I've known the characters for a relatively short time, but in a comic book's #100 issue, as I can only read ~one issue per month, I get to know the characters for years, wich makes it hard...

I may have chocked back a tear during the end of RDR.

Cried during this episode of Futurma:

Teared during the ending sequence of Grand Torino when they pan over to the dog in the passenger seat.

It is pretty easy for me to tear up when animals are involved. I think it has to do with my connection to Ferdinand the bull.

I say add this to your list too. The animated movie I'm thinking is from the early '80s - that is the best one IMO.

I have cried a little (just a little) when the Tenth Doctor (of the show Doctor Who) said while he was dying: "I don't want to go."

And also Toy Story when Andy drove off and Woody and the gang watch him leave.

Other than that, I cry almost everyday, not because I am sad, but because of THE BLOODY WIND IS IN MY EYES WHEN I AM BICYCLING! angry.gif
