there are a few options on how to play through GTA IV and episodes

1. original GTA IV disc + downloads of TLAD and TBOGT
2. original GTA IV disc + Episodes from Liberty City disc
3. all downloads
4. GTA IV Complete Edition disc

which would you say is the best experience?

I do the first option

I do the second option. I paid about $5.00-$10.00 for GTA IV disk, and $15.00 for EFLC. So worth it. BTW, I play on PS3.

I have the second option. I bought GTA IV original disk at the end of 2010. About a year later i bought the episodes on disk.

I don't have a problem switching the disks because I usually play only one or the other for a period of time.

I have GTA IV on 360 (disc) and I have EFLC for 360 too. Funnily enough I bought EFLC on 360 before GTA IV on 360 because at that time I had GTA IV on PS3.

So at one stage I had GTA IV on PS3 and EFLC on 360. mercie_blink.gif

Speaking of which who else bought EFLC on release and still has it? The "only on Xbox" on the cover is a reminder never to trust Microsoft's word again lol.

Option number 1. I got GTA IV on disk and both add-ons downloaded from Marketplace. Best option if you ask me.

i have The Complete Edition for PS3... easy.. but there are it's problems. i think just buying both discs of the game (GTA IV and EFLC) would have been better though... im happy though, it works colgate.gif

I first played GTA IV and the Episodes as stand alone copies for the PS3. About two years later, I traded in my copy of the Episodes and bought The Complete Edition on one disc for my PS3, and played all 3 games again on that.

Now I have the PS3 Complete Edition only.

@ StonersDarkeness

What problems do you have with the PS3 version of the Complete Edition ? I have it for the PS3 and it has always worked fine for me, I have no problems at all.

well... at one time my old 150GB crashed... i had the Complete Edition then as well and sadly, a month before it crashed i wasn't able to load up IV or TBOGT, only TLAD... then when it crashed it just didn't load up games anymore. ('i do believe that was a disk drive faliure) that was really the only problem i had, other than that IV and TLAD/TBOGT run on different Saves and jump back and forth between multiplayer. (say if i get an invite from someone in TBOGT and im in TLAD and i accept it, it shifts me over without it telling me they were on TBOGT.)

i now have a 300GB with no problems really... i still believe the XBox 360 to fail more than the PS3 though... i went through 4 of those... only 2 PS3's tounge2.gif

Oh well.....

I've had my 60gb with BC PS3 since October 2007, and I have never had any problems with it so far, thankfully. All my copies of GTA IV, Episodes and Complete Edition worked just fine, and still do.

I played Grand Theft Auto IV on a PlayStation 3. I played the original disc first. Afterward, I used the Complete Edition disc to play the two DLC episodes.

There's none available, but here is GTA IV Special Edition. What's different in it?

I have the Complete Edition of GTA IV, and it was definitely worth the money considering that I got the original game with the two DLCs for like 40 which isn't really much money. I would suggest anyone, who doesn't have GTA IV but wants to buy the game, to buy the Complete Edition. That's the best deal you can have.

Even though I play Xbox, I would say the PS3 complete edition as it will be the closest to the entire experience at your fingertips. Plus with everything there, it will be more like GTA V.
