I've been posting pics here and there, but this is really turning thread-worthy. The basic run-down is that this is a mid-70's (year not confirmed) Leyland Mini 1000 (998cc). I bought it locally and have begun ordering parts by the truckload. Here is what the car looked like upon delivery:

Here is the car as of today:

Few things to note, I'm replacing the old tan interior for black leather which is why I'm missing a seat. The hood stripes you see above were done with PlastiDip, so they can be removed. In all about a 15min job. The main goals are fix the rust, repaint the car in yellow, and on the side convert it to Cooper spec.

That's all for now, expect updates soon.

How much did you pay for that thing? And do you live in America? Otherwise those things are sweet. I've always wanted one but could never find one for a price I could afford.

And do you live in America?

From what I've gathered, he lives somewhere around Seattle.

Looking forward to the Cooper conversion. After seeing how extensive you got with the Evo conversion, a full on Cooper conversion seems like a cakewalk.

That's a very nice ride you have there, brother. Keep it in good condition smile.gif

Do you have any plans to fix the bit of rust near the right headlight?

All the rust is getting repaired. That's the reason why I don't show you guys the left side of the car. After the rust is fixed I'll be respraying the car in the same yellow.

Having some rust repairs done now, in the meantime I mounted a set of UK plates, to help set off the look.
