Hey all, as some of you know I've been running an E36 BMW 323i lately. It was the best car I've had so far but I fancied a change so I've put a deposit down on a Mini Cooper S. smile.gif

The car I'm buying was BBR tuned from new, and it was actually their press car for a certain amount of time. I've been told it's got 225BHP but at one time it was running 275! I assume it was detuned after being BBR's press car, but I'm gonna get it on the rolling road to find out what it's currently got for sure. I've been told it's got a smaller supercharger pulley, a Cosworth supercharger belt idler, a different map and a Miltek exhaust system.

When it was with BBR the car was featured on Top Gear in early '03, and was in Evo Magazine and Auto Express.

Sell BMW only to buy Mini? Not the best decision in my opinion. confused.gif

This is true! smile.gif

And Tycek: The BMW was great, but I fancied a change and the Cooper S fits the bill spot on. I get bored easy!

At least you're still getting a BMW.

I seen Mini in the topic title, opened it up, and then got a little disappointed. Not that the newer Minis aren't great cars, but given your past history of BMC stuff, I was hoping you'd finally got a good, solid 1275 Mark II Mark IIIor something.

I suppose he actually wants a more comftorable car that he can use normally, not such a hobby car or something like an older and original Mini which is basic really.

I would LOVE to, infact when we have more room at home I would like to buy a cheap 1275 MK 3 or 4. Or a Clubman, I would love a 1275GT or even a Clubman Estate.

For my main drive though I wanted something modern; not that commuting in the Metro last year was a problem, but I feel something newer is a bit more suitable. Plus I've been seduced by the supercharger whine! It reminds me of the 1st gear whine on an A series. smile.gif

So I picked the car up Monday, all I can say is I'm VERY HAPPY! The car is much quicker than the BMW and handles like it's on rails!

Some pics I've took:

Plans for the car will be a John Cooper Works front grill, white LED bulbs for the interior and side lights, a couple of bits of new interior trim and to enjoy it! And a induction kit so I can hear that supercharger whine more. smile.gif

Needs better tires. All seasons + Mini = wasted potential.

They're summer tyres! but the fronts are Pirelli run flats so they will have to go - I'll get my moneys worth out of them first though. tounge.gif

Nah the Fiat 500 is my sisters, it's a strange dual-logic robotised manual model! My dad used to have a 500 Abarth however. smile.gif
