Sorry for long wait, its been crazy summer. Finally in game shot. I replaced Marbelle (using its default handling) and it works almost perfectly.

Lots of loose ends to deal with, needs a proper dirtmap on body and maybe tweak the lights. How can I make car not "floating" ie make the wheel touch the gorund, should i adjust the wheel size at vehicle.IDE or the wheel collision model?

@illusion I might use that hubcap instead of wires specially on wagons.

@intensified yikes, someone beats me. it's a big work once I get the other variants.

Been testing. I've noticed that the hands and back of the ped should be adjusted to fit with the seat and  (I've installed the vehicles.ide and such). The ped's back goes through the seat when accelerating or or braking: http://imageshack.us...4/3836/cyl6.jpg

^unfixable. That's just the game. I just tested the vehicle and the only thing incorrect is the rear suspension that must be risen. Other than that it's perfect! I'll be on my way to ZModeler now...

@roadrunner I noticed it too, the dummy position is good enough, but i have to move the seat and steering mesh to make it better.

@intensified I noticed it too, so I'll try to adjust the handling.cfg or maybe the rear wheel dummy.

Just lower the rear wheels dummie AND the rear wheel's COL down a little and it's fixed! I'll be starting in a taxi version I think, mate!

VERSION 1.0
http://www.mediafire...aprice89v10.rar

Edit: I modified the handling (so it's as fast as the police) and the Carcol to accomodate multiple interior colour.

@Roadrunner71 I got i high res version of the body texture. They are kind of seperated by parts. The only curveball is the doors UV from the driver side are shared with the pasenger side.

Body Template.

Isn't the 1986 Caprice practically just like the 1987-9 one with different headlights?

Can't wait, too:P

@intensified Thanks :)

@roadrunner Aside frm headlights, it doesnt have hood ornament, instead it got an emblem slighy on top of the dashboard. they also revised some of the options. 1990 is tricker because of door mounted seatbelt.

If I'm right the 1987 is wider too. At least, I think. Somewhere I found a picture of a 1987 next to a 1990 LAPD Caprice.

@intensified No they are the same size, the "smaller" car is probably slightly further back. They are fundimentally unchanged from 1985-1990 except for the font and rear clips, interior and exterior trims and equiptment options.

@stratumxspb looking good :)

Rough taillight texture...still preliminary. Ditched the texture and modeled the grill. The made the front clip a bit longer...now looks bit better. I completed the UV on the wagon..and doing the LOD.

Well, curiously, I made a Pittsburgh paint job for an old conversion of the older version of the Impala just the last week: http://www.lcpdfr.co..._338_689550.jpg

I'm not sure about the equipament, in fact, I'm not sure about if Pittsburgh police dept even used Impalas for something else than movie props (there's a big gap regarding pictures of the police fleet of that city during the 1980's). I know they had late 1970's Dodge Aspen and Ram Chargers, but not much else of that time period. In any case, the Pitts. PD Impalas seen in the movie Striking Distance looks awesome, as well as yours  :colgate:

For a good copcar I'd go with a Caprice Police Package instead of the Impala. The Impala was more of a civil vehicle. Mostly used by ''granddads'' nowadays. I'd love to have one though!

@roadrunner after staring at the model then It reminds me of striking distance. films are known to take a lot of creative liberties. I tried to google any Pittsburg boxy caprice or impala...almost none. I just done a quick test with a police livery.... Realize my uv layouts are a bit off...anything with strip of line is trouble....the best wAy probably is to make a third uv map for paint job alone...then my body texture don't have to be modified (makes my WTD a bit bigger though) I'm planning to do this method (hopefully gta4 supports it) on wagon wood trim.

@intensified you're right, caprice are more well known, specially in films. They are LAPD favourites and they virtually dominated the police and taxi fleets.

@rocket hopefully soon.

Wagon - ludshee this is what I saw after Chevrolet caprice 1991 and 1993!

I would like to offer another option for Chevrolet caprice '89 model year, it is the Old version of the car is very lacking in the series gta!

@poctic absolutely, a nice clunker version will be a great addition. I'm short of time and I'm trying to get impala and the wagon completed. I'm also looking for someone to turn my base model into brougham model (fancy model with landau roof, wired wheels and plush seating)

@poctic I give you permission if you want to convert the car into a clunker. And if you got time in your hand convert it into brougham sedan.

Class I will gladly do it! Well, I'll do the first, the mood of the camera away, you could shoot out of the car.
I would like to ask you, can paint vinyl old car, and I This is embodied in the tradition of GTA IV! I'm just really bad at doing these things ((
