So, I've been playing some online games on my PS3 and my Xbox360, and everytime when I'm in a game I see some guys with some very dumb names like ''iSCOPEZZZux3'' ''iSWAGx3F0Ru'' etc etc...

Have you guys ever seen names like that ?
If yes, tell me what you think about it.

Everybody's seen them kind of gamertags or PSN usernames from time to time. It's a 'clan' name and most usually originate from multiplayer games such as Call of Duty or Battlefield.

Not trying to backseat mod here, but it's pretty obvious these kind of discussions belong in Gaming Chat. sarcasm.gif

I have often heard that bots can make accounts with Randomly generated names but based on the names you have provided I don't think this is the case at all and I agree with what Prominent has said. Likely it's some looser's trying to come up with cool names but they simply failed miserably.

These names are usually made by a kid that hasn't hit puberty yet and uses swear words like they're some of the only words in the English language. They think it looks cool, but instead makes everyone else's eyes bleed and gives off the impression of a borderline retard.

I personally like that they use these stupid name variations, because I know exactly who to mute before they even speak.

^ Agreed. Usually one of those kids who's voice sounds like a Disney characters' and think they're cool because they sit on their arse that much that they master whatever game it is that they play mostly, usually, as I said, Call of Duty or Battlefield. Battlefield isn't as bad.

I'm not trying to defend what these kids are doing or what they are trying to do, but you all tried to look cool when you were young.
The internet today is a place where they can be whatever they want, whether it is good for them or not.

I don't know how old you guys are, but the older you get, you learn that the less you worry about what they're doing, the best. They'll grow up and will realize that what they did in the past was ridiculous.

Back to the main point of the topic, I always wanted to create a gamertag with these Xs and Ys and capital letters mixed with lower case letters just for the lols, but I never wanted to waste money on another account so I stayed with my "normal name" gamertag.

Those kinds of gamertags are made by anyone in the age range of 8-12.

You'll find some pretty cool ones like "Aquamarine" and "Danger". I used to have the gamertag Orizzonte which means Horizon in Italian.

Thanks Captain, but no one is worrying about what they do. We simply share a common opinion.

I don't. I see it in Call of Duty and Battlefield, you'll hardly ever see these kind of names in games such as Hitman: Absolution: Contracts, Halo 4 and Assassins Creed.

I always liked "A Homeless Guy".

Another that made me chuckle was "Gorillapino".

Since when does using leet speak mean you're not cool? It means the exact opposite.

Seriously, we could talk for years about names being used on these forums as well.

When a million names are taken there's not much left to take.

Names like these start off innocent.

The first guy has always used Fireman so he gets Fireman as his name.

The second guy uses Fir3man, since Fireman was already taken.

Up comes F1r3m4n, f!r3m4|\| and |=1r3|\/|4|\| and XxX|\|05C0P3F1R3M4N[X]ssss878787

EDIT: I would also rather see Turdburglar, but names run out eventually and so does imagination. Games don't come with name generators tounge.gif

I don't mind the XxXx sh*t sometimes, it's stupid, but there is a reason for it (Lack of names), what is just retarded is rather than adding numbers of something, they purposely spell their gamertag wrong, this kid had his PSN ID as "Busniness man", I told him he spelt/spelled it wrong and he said "Business Man" was taken rather than adding numbers or something, WTF?

X box Live actually has a username generator, you ever heard of the very famous Youtuber Seananners? The Sea Banana Man got his gamertag "Seananners" from Xbox Live who suggested the tag when he first made an account.

Funny you say that, TURDBURGLARS is the best cross-map tomahawker/ballistic knifer I have ever seen on Call Of Duty, his videos on PSN (as in hosted by Activision) are the most popular videos with hundreds upon hundreds =crowding the top of the most popular videos.

Honestly, I wish I could change my Xbox Gamertag, but I'd have to pay to do it, but I can't because I'm f*cking poor as sh*t.

Well, technically you can change it for free. If you have a lot of friends on Xbox Live, just ask them to submit a complaint on your gamertag. I've heard that it's an automated process and after ten or so complaints, it'll force you to change it at no charge. I've never personally done it so I don't know if it still works, however I have a buddy that has been changing his name by doing that for a couple years now.

Sign up for the Bing rewards, it's going to take a while. (about 2.5 months) everyday do about 30 searches through bing. (they don't have to be meaningful searches, just search random crap.)

After a while you'll have enough bing points to get the 400msp code. redeem, and repeat.
That's how i changed mine.

After a while it will only take you about 5 minutes to do the 30 daily searches.

I don't see why people have names like "MAD_QUICKSCOPEZZZZZZZZXXXZZZ-_-_-x_x_X_x_X-_x__x-X-X_x_X-_x-X_X-x_x_x_x_x_x_x_x-Xx_x-420-LOOK-HOW-OBNOXIOUS-I-AMXXXXZXZXZXZX-DID-I-ALSO-MENTION-HOW-TOTALLY-KEWL-I-AM-FOR-HAVEING-420-IN-MY-NAME-AND-SPELLING-HAVING-WRONG?LOLOLOXXX"

when they can just have something simple. they don't benefit anyone.

for one it's an eyesore for everyone who has to see it

and secondly, when someone asks "what's your PSN name add me"

and I say "what's yours?" and he says "x-" i immediately interrupt and say "no."
