At least this guy is an actual criminal with criminal backstory, and not just some pissed off hockey player.
Hah! That's true. Honestly, I don't mind a character in and of itself, but rather Overkill's 'Uh....he did...like...some bad stuff and now s/he's here!'.
John? Makes some sense, he knows Chains.
Clover? Sure, she's got a pretty good background story.
Dragan? Why the hell would you add him because he knows a guy who knows a guy? (Butcher knowing Bain and so on). The fact he's also Interpol, even dirty, sounds like a recipe for trouble.
Sokoi- Why the hell is he even on the team? He robbed casinos in Russia and that somehow makes him crucial to this Vegas heist? Hell, if you stealth GG you don't even NEED the BFG that he supposedly designed. So his addition sounds purely like a reason to add a character and they were desperate to add a semi-plausible reason for his addition.
Bonnie- How in the hell do you expect me to believe an overweight woman like Bonnie is as good as Houston at being a silent ghost in heists?
He Who Must Not Be Named- I don't need to explain.....his existence. I like to pretend he doesn't exist.
My problem with all these characters coming around isn't "THEY'RE NEW AND THEY SUCK!", it's that I find it problematic to believe the Payday Gang is this elite crew of professional robbers when you have these random people who apparently had one big score and that somehow justifies them being trustable as members of a crew whose ranks should be really close knit to prevent leaks and infiltration by police. I feel like Overkill kind of jumped the shark the minute they added that stupid Jacket heister.
Sorry to get pissy, but that's my biggest problem with this game. The heists look good (Last gen user, but I keep up with all the latest info and stuff because I became a fan of the lore) but the DLCs are mostly crap. Not the 'big ones' like Clover's or Golden Grin, I'm talking about the ones like RPGs, flamethrowers and miniguns and all that garbage and so on. I guess everyone plays differently, but I like the idea of playing as professional 'Hit 'em hard, hit em fast and get out clean' type of pros, be it loud or stealth. Going in like a paramilitary unit just ruins the fun to me. But I guess to each their own, but if you go to a heist loud with a bow, that's no less dumb than using a saw in a mission it's not required in. You just become the dead weight IMO. Like those people who do Watchdogs with suit only and keep going down till custody.
(Sorry for the rant guys)
