3Doomer,when u will have a time please fix the parallax shader in GIMS,ZIts very usefull shader,if it will be possible use in models,(this shader uses in generated scratches after for example car hit in a wall)this shader make normall bump more 3d.

What is the chance of GIMS mapping odr + obn etc. support on Max9?

GIMS crashes when i try paint 3 or 4 layer blended terrain. 2-layer works totally fine, got any idea what causes this? Is it a script bug or am i doing something wrong?

Tri,

Please find some boring time to work on the export, GTA V is coming...

we wait for your genius tool... I dont know anything about programs or plugins, i dont know if it takes time or if its complicated but a few, very few people like you can do this.

Please, Please, Please... wink.gif Work on it... before summer time because maybe you will spend your time on beaches wink.gif

Possibilities are enormous with vehicules... so... we wait confused.gif

I don't really think that it's a GIMS problem...I've tried to re - export models with this shader and haven't noticed any differences between original and re - exported models.

3D MAX 9 SP2 support'll be added in few days. No mapping or export yet - just openFormats import.
Blend painter'll be fixed later.

Hey guys who have constantly upgrading GIMS whenever a new one comes out, I have a question to ask you.

I use GIMS from July 2011 because it has Max 2009 capabilities. Somewhere down the road, apparently GIMS have a different .obn system. Maybe due to openformat changes along the way.

The real question is this. I hear some people having obn problems like needing to convert to tris instead of quads. Holes in collisions ect. Whats up with all this??

The GIMS version I use does not have any of this problem. I can just use a regular quad model and STILL have collisions working.

It's not that big of a deal. You can reimport your bugged col and fill the holes (create option in editable poly).

Doomer, will you still support the regular GIMS? I don't like this metro UI, doesn't blend in with the rest of 3ds max.


And if not, is it possible to turn of the IV\EFLC folder scanning at the start? I'm more of the 'advanced' user and I like to do all edits manually anyway. I ask this because I close gims most of the time due to the window being so big. After i've done my edits, I open gims back up again. That's how I use regular gims. It's a bit of a hassle to select and let it load the iv\eflc folder everytime I open gims again.

Now I have one bug I like to report. Whenever you use of these pivot adjustments, gims resets them when you export (odr)

Well, the GIMS version I have does not have this problem.

You say all old version have this, and it appears randomly. Is this fixed already?

The script's compatible with 3D MAX 9 with Service Pack 2 and all newer versions.
ATTENTION! Install "AvGuard DLX Extension" when using 3D MAX 9 SP 2.
Also, be sure the latest updates and service packs're installed on your 3D MAX.

3Doomer, thanks for the update. I am grateful that GIMS Evo works on Max 9 and above. If we can get .obn and .odr export, I will finally be able to upgrade GIMS after almost two full years of not doing so. Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

FIXED! I want to share with you the way I did to fix the problem.

Go to %localappdata% => right click on GIMS folder => uncheck read-only flag THEN right click on GIMS folder => Security => Edit => Add => Advanced => Search or find button => RDN Name: your name; computer name: your computer name. For me is Andrew - ANDREW-PC
